Our final graduating senior is Amanda! Amanda has been an amazing representative of our team from the start! her determination and passion shines through in everything she does, riding or not. We were so lucky to have her on our team the last few years! Amanda is graduating with a degree in Biology with a Science Education concentration. She will be returning to the Chicago Suburbs to teach middle school science! More from Amanda below:

I will forever cherish every moment spent with the team. One of my favorite memories is winning the first Intermediate Flat class I competed in, facing some tough competition, and deciding to just go in the ring and have some fun. Sharing that moment with my teammates was so meaningful and I am thankful for the joy and support received from my them. The team has helped me grow in confidence and given me so many friendships I couldn’t imagine my college experience without. I’m am so proud to have witnessed and helped the team progress since my freshmen year and I can’t wait to cheer them on as an alumni! Wings up! 🦅

Our next spring graduate is Alli! Alli has made such a positive impact on our team! She has served as coach for the last few years and she is the best to learn from. She continually pushes the team to be better and better while also being extremely uplifting. We are so lucky to have her! Alli is graduating with a degree in Biology with an emphasis in Environmental Science and a Creative Writing minor! After graduation, Alli plans on going to PA school! More from Alli below:

This spring, we are celebrating the graduation of our three seniors! First: Mara Myers! Mara has been an amazing role model to younger riders. She is extremely supportive to every person on the team and is always willing to lend a helping hand. We are going to miss her sunshine so much! Mara is graduating with a BS in Biology with a Healthcare Analytics minor! After graduation, Mara is heading back to Madison to work for UW health. More from Mara below:

Joining the UWL Equestrian Team was the best decision I made after transferring to UWL. During my time with the team, I’ve met incredible people and made lifelong friends that I am forever grateful for. The team allowed me to continue doing what I love as an equestrian, with an amazing support system, talented horses, and a welcoming community through IHSA. There’s been so many laughs between hotel rooms and team dinners it’s hard to pick a favorite memory, but the Jackbox doodle games we’ve played on my Switch are definitely up there. As I go on to work at UW Health, I will cherish the memories and laughs I’ve had with the team and continue to support them in the future as an alumni ♥️

Yesterday the team celebrated another wonderful year at the sport club banquet! We recapped highlights from the year, said goodbye to our seniors, and presented kwik trip themed superlatives! We also received the team spirit award from sport clubs and received many individual nominations. We are so proud of the whole team for working hard and having many great successes this season 💪
