Most kept it off.

Some even became coaches.

Maybe you’re just tired of carrying it all yourself.

Or maybe your friend just sent you this because they believe in you.

Tonight I’m opening it again.

I was scared to die young, so I got fit.
That sounds so dramatic.

Let me explain.

My dad died when I was eleven from bladder cancer.

It came from lifestyle choices: smoking and drinking.

There’s no greater accountability than death.

So at nineteen, twenty-four years ago,
I became a personal trainer.

I got really good at exercise after training thousands of people.

But my ADHD had me hyper-focused on perfect form, and I didn’t pay much attention to nutrition.

That changed when we had our son, Mateo.

The accountability to not die young became very real.

I knew what my family went through,
and I didn’t want that for him or for Ana.

But I was a new dad in survival mode.

Running a gym.

Not sleeping.

Eating Taco Bell weekly.

Something had to change.

When Mateo was six months old, I hired Dr. Trevor Kashey to teach me everything he knew about nutrition.

And the result?

I got in better shape in twelve weeks
than I had in my entire life.

I tracked calories and protein using a food list.

I stopped drinking.
And I barely worked out during that time.

Six months later, Ana followed the same process and absolutely crushed it.

What we learned wasn’t a secret or magic.

It was accountability.

Having someone help us do the things we already knew we needed to do.

If that’s you…

Like you know what to do but aren’t doing it.

We’ve got your back.

Comment “LIST” and I’ll send you the food list and invite you to a free seven-day challenge.

Just like the one that started it all for Ana and I.

Sometimes growth looks like leaving.
Not in anger.
Not as a dramatic “fresh start.”
Just a quiet decision:
I’m not abandoning myself for this anymore.
If you’re walking away from something you worked hard for, you didn’t fail.
You chose yourself.

When you’re exhausted, the world loves to prescribe effort.
But your body often needs the opposite: regulation.
Tiny, practical choices that lower the noise in your system—so your energy has somewhere to land.
Start small.
Start repeatable.
Start with what you can do on your worst day.
That’s the work Inside 168 Coaching.

If the only time you’re alone is in the bathroom,
That’s not “me time.”

That’s your nervous system begging for quiet.

Our landscaper, Don Bernardo, comes by a few times a week.

He moves slowly.

Works with his hands.

Stays outside the entire time.

No phone.

No rushing.

No performing productivity.

And he’s always calm with a smile on his face.

That’s the part most of my clients miss.

They don’t burn out because they’re failing.

They burn out because their bodies never get a signal that it’s safe to chill eff out!

You’re always:
needed
responding
holding things together
And even your “rest” still means doomscrolling, thinking, deciding.

Gardening changes the signal.

It gives you:
movement without pressure

quiet without effort

focus without decision fatigue

Connection without having to explain yourself.

Your hands are busy, so your mind finally lets go.

That’s why the healthiest communities in the world don’t chase calm.

They build it into daily life.

You don’t need a perfect garden.

You need a place where your body can soften.

If this hits and life feels loud, isolating, and nonstop,

DM me GROUND.

I’ll send you a few simple ways to create this kind of calm, even if you don’t own a garden 🌱

The Grounded Gringo😂

What we left wasn’t all bad.
It was just... loud.
Fast. Busy. Always rushing.
Always chasing the clock.
Convenient. Packaged. Rushed.
And for a while, we thought that’s just how life is.
But on the other side of change, we found something quieter:
slower mornings. time to actually live. food that feels real.
a pace our bodies can keep.
Different places. Different priorities.
We chose what feels like home.

If your nervous system could talk, it probably wouldn’t ask you to try harder.
It would ask you to do less.
Less noise.
Less “sure, I can make it work.”
Less living like your body isn’t keeping score.
It might sound simple.
Stop saying yes to everything.
We do not need another event.
Drink water. Seriously.
Please breathe.
Because burnout usually isn’t one big moment.
It’s a thousand small overrides.
You ignore thirst.
You skip meals.
You hold your breath while you answer messages.
You push through tension and call it “fine.”
You say yes because it’s easier than explaining your no.
Then we treat it like a motivation problem.
And reach for more discipline.
But your body doesn’t need extreme discipline.
It needs regulation.
A steadier baseline.
A way to come back mid-day, not only after you crash.
So if you’ve been feeling wired but tired… foggy… irritable… or emotional over small things—pause.
Before the next yes, ask: do I have the capacity for this, or am I bracing?
Take one slow exhale.
Drop your shoulders.
Drink a glass of water.
If you want to learn how to manage your energy without burning out, that’s what we practice at 168 Coaching.
If you want, message me “regulation” and I’ll share a simple starting point.
