🌿 No separation.

Hawaiians are a deeply spiritual people. A child of Polynesian descent, I learned Spirituality early — without realising I was being taught anything.

It was simply how my Father lived. He was an Oyster Farmer. He would pray and make offerings for the protection of the family. That was normal life.

It came from profound respect — something that isn’t always easy to understand through Western ideas of Spirituality.

Growing up I learned about mana, acknowledging a Higher Being, the presence of ka poʻe kahiko (the Ancestors), ʻaumākua, and ʻohana in every moment of daily life.

🌿 Nothing was separate from them.

Today I live that way according to the Teachings of my Kumu. In my backyard I have a Pōhaku o Kāne — a place where I speak with the Gods, sit with the Ancestors, and make sure I am listening and following the Teachings.

This is why in Hawaiian Healing, Lomilomi Massage and Ho'oponopono, spirituality isn’t something you switch on in a healing session.

It is how you live. And this is why Protocol matters in your work - itʻs one of the kaona — deeper meaning.

🌿 It's also why Protocols were never written down. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦..

My Kumu and Anakala Pilipo believe non-Hawaiians could learn to live this way too. Which is why I teach them around the world.

But to practice at this level requires further training, regardless of the Lomilomi method you practice.
