Meet the owner, Irvin Althouse.
1. 1976- Began training in the Martial Arts.
2. 1996- Opened his first Martial Arts school in Fleetwood, PA.
3. 1997- Inducted into the Eastern Alliance of Martial Arts Hall of Fame as a Master Breaker.
4. 1998- Inducted into the Worldwide Alliance of Martial Arts as Martial Artist of the Year.
5. 1999- Set a new world record for concrete block breaking (70 blocks s
tanding 16 ft high and weighing 1,650 lbs.).
6. 2000- Inducted into the American Federation of Martial Arts Hall of Fame as Martial Artist of the year.
7. 2000- Began the only Full Contact Kickboxing training available in Berks County.
8. 2000- Licensed by the PA Athletif Commission as a Promoter of amateur Kickboxing/Thai events.
9. 2001- Hall 2018 promoted an average of 6 Kickboxing/Thai events every year.
10. 2003- Attended the World Kickboxing Championships on Kos Island, Greece as the head coach for Team USA. There were 2,000 competitors representing 58 countries, Two fighter from Althouse Karate & Kickboxing earned bronze medals in Continuous Sparring and one of our fighters.
11. Was the first American evert to win a silver medal in Full Acountant Sparring.
12. 2004- Attendees the Intercontinental Championships, Pretoria, South Africa, again as the Head Coach of Team USA, as well as the US representative for the WPKA (World Professional Kickboxing Assoc.) One student of Althouse Karate and Kickboxing, at age 10, was the youngest competitor at the games.
13. 2007- Promoted the first all female full contact Kickboxint event in Pennsylvania. A portion of the proceeds Ent to the Domestic Violence Services of Lancaster County.
14. 2007- Awarded a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education by the Worldide Allience of Martial Arts.
15. 2013- Named Instructor of the Year for Kickboxing by the Legends of the Martial Arts.
16. 2013/2014- #1 Kickboxint/Muay Thai promoter in PA, based on PA State Atheltic Commission Records.
17. 2014- Promoted and sanctioned the first Pro/Am Muay Thai event in Pennsylvania.
18. 2017-2018- Promoter of the first Pro Muay Thai International fights: USA vs. Portugal.
19. 2018- Promoter of the first Pro Female Muay Thai Championship bout.
20. 2021- Opened the Althouse Training Center in Kutztown, PA specializing in full contact and cardio Kickboxing, Muay Thai training and Boxing.
