🥋 First day of summer camp is in the books and the kids crushed it. 🥋

They showed up ready to learn, put in the work on the mats, and locked in their focus during the drills. It takes a lot of discipline to train hard, but they brought the right energy from the very first minute.

Of course, it wouldn’t be summer camp without a little bit of crazy time to burn off the rest of that energy. 🤪

We talk to so many adults who love the idea of Jiu-Jitsu but tell themselves they are “too old” or “too out of shape” to step on the mats. They assume every round is a car accident and that they’ll be hobbling into work the next day. 

That only happens in gyms that lack control.
At Eclipse, longevity is the goal.

We have built an incredible community of everyday professionals, parents, and masters-aged students who train hard, stay safe, and look out for each other. Whether you are on the mats for our early morning 6:30 AM No-Gi or wrapping up your day at our 6:00 PM Adult Gi Fundamentals, you are walking into an ego-free room focused on technique and mutual respect. 

You don’t need to get in shape to start Jiu-Jitsu.
You use Jiu-Jitsu to get in shape.

That price isn’t paid in a single day. It’s paid through years of showing up, working hard, and learning to enjoy the process.

At Eclipse, we believe a healthy balance of fun and discipline helps students build habits that last. While they’re having fun with friends and learning Jiu-Jitsu, they’re also developing determination, resilience, and a strong work ethic.

The state of being equal, especially in status, rights, opportunities, or value.

One of the first lessons students learn in Jiu-Jitsu is equality.

The mat doesn’t care about your age or gender.
The mat doesn’t care about your job title.
The mat doesn’t care about where you come from.

Everyone starts as a beginner.
Everyone earns their progress through effort, consistency, and learning.

It’s not about where you start.
It’s about what you’re willing to BECOME in the process.

The right academy will change your life, but the wrong environment will just leave you injured and burnt out.
We hear horror stories all the time about toxic gym cultures, dirty facilities, and out-of-control sparring where beginners are just treated as live bait. It shouldn’t be that way.

This Memorial Day, we’re coming together for more than just training.

Join us at Eclipse Jiu-Jitsu for a special Open Mat benefiting the We Defy Foundation, an organization helping combat veterans cope with military-connected disabilities through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and fitness training.

Whether you train Gi, No-Gi, or just want to support a great cause, everyone is welcome. Kids, adults, and all affiliations are invited to share the mats with us.

You don’t need a single ounce of martial arts experience to walk through our doors.

Too many people talk themselves out of starting Jiu-Jitsu because they think they need to look like a finished product on Day 1.

The reality?

Everyone you see on our mats started exactly where you are standing right now—trying to figure out where their feet go and how to breathe through the movement.

Jiu-Jitsu is a lifelong practice of consistency, not overnight perfection. Our Adult Gi Fundamentals classes are built specifically to slow things down, break down the core mechanics, and give you a safe space to fail, learn, and grow.

You don’t need to be flawless. You just need to show up, open your mind, and put in the effort. The mats will take care of the rest.

Your comfort zone is a beautiful place, but it is also where goals go to die. Most adults fall into a rigid daily loop that provides security, but almost no genuine growth or true stress relief.

If you are constantly staring at screens, dealing with daily anxiety, or just feel like you are running in circles, it is because your routine is missing a spark.

You don’t have to wait until you are “in shape” or “ready” to make a change.
