Dear Family, the last of the "original" greatest-generation Ripley six is gone. Emil Ripley joined LaVerne 9/14. Here's his obituary.

Emil Joseph Ripley, 91, a long-time resident of Pulaski and Krakow, died at home September 14, surrounded by his loving family. Dear Ripley-Ullman cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, etc. This Saturday is our long-awaited family reunion. We're looking forward to a big love-filled crowd. Women, remember to bring a hat for a group photo with Emil. Men, you can wear hats, too and we'll take another group photo. It won't be quite the same for Dad, but after a few beers, it will be fun! Travel safely all.

Given that Emil Ripley LOVES to see women in hats, we thought it would be great fun to have as many of us as possible bring big hats to the reunion. We'll surround Emil and take a group picture of us donning our chapeaus sometime in the afternoon!
