I do not hold UNESCO in high reguard but it has worked with children worldwide for many years. I am surprised at their conclusions about Judo.

Copied from Traditional Judo site.

UNESCO declared judo the best beginner sport for training children and young people aged 4 to 21 years.
The benefits of child development
Through persistent Judo practice, a child develops his strength, speed, flexibility, coordination, reflex, concentration, balance, resistance, personality, confidence and knowledge of his own body. .
Due to constantly changing situations, in Judo practice, a child is required to stimulate their "tactical thinking".
Judo does not encourage aggression; Through relationships with their peers, a child learns to cooperate, respect and develop self-control.
Judo is practiced without punches or kicks in the initial phase, which is safer for children as they begin practicing martial arts.
Even though it is originally a martial art, judo transmits certain culture and traditions into its practice, such as respect, discipline, emotional balance, and introduces many other values into children’s daily habits.
Useful information about Judo

Baby Ninja Saga

Master: What are you doing?

Baby ninja: Practicing my invisibility.

Master: While I do not see you, I know where you are?

Baby ninja: I cannot see you therefore you cannot see me.

Master: Because you are covered by a cloth does not mean you are invisible.

Baby ninja: But Master, I cannot see you, so how do you see me a trained ninja.

Master: It is not necessary to see your quarry to know where it is.

Baby ninja: I know you are near and do not see you.

Silence, Master having left. Baby ninja throws cloth aside to see Master and exclaims, "Master, you are invisible!"
