Why you should make taking care of your immune system your top priority- forever & always

Here are some things I do/don’t do to take care of my immune system

Do:
Liquid zinc sulfate daily
Micro-c daily
Lemon water upon waking
Celery juice
Fruit smoothies for breakfast
Wash my hands 3,452,777 times a day
Stay hydrated AF
Stay calm and peaceful as much as possible
Cleanse on a regular basis

I don’t:
Drink alcohol
Smoke
Eat/drink after people
Do a lot of hugging/get up in peoples personal space
Touch my face or mouth if I haven’t washed my hands recently
Eat fats before noon
Consume eggs
Consume vinegars of any kind
Minimal dairy and gluten
Get frantic or stressed

This is not an exhaustive by ANY means, but it’s definitely some highlights.

There’s sooooo many more things I do to support my immune system on a regular basis that basically it’s become my life goal and it’s hard to separate the two.

And there are reasons behind each and every thing I do or don’t do. Which I will share in more detail in another post.

We live in a very toxic, inflammatory world.

Our air
Our soil
Our food
Our water
Our ocean
Our clothing
Our electronics
Our medications
Our perfumes/colognes

Literally almost everything (if not everything) is contaminated on this planet that we live on and that we have to try and survive/thrive on.

Regardless of how we have gotten here and what we need to do to fix it, it’s our reality and we have to learn to live with it.

We have never been up against what we are currently up against as a species.

So we can’t keep doing what we have always done in order to rise above this situation we’re in.

We live in a world

FULL of bugs (mostly man-made, if not all) which isn’t going anywhere
That is highly toxic
Where profits are valued over true healing
Where our “medicine” is also toxic
That values band-aid approaches to health
That values work work work and doesn’t allow for us to take enough time to care for ourselves and our families
Etc etc etc

Where everyone is

Chronically dehydrated
Chronically stressed
Chronically exhausted
Chronically overworked
Addicted to caffeine just to simply function
Experiencing at least one but most likely MULTIPLE “mysterious” symptoms on a daily basis (just because it’s common doesn’t mean it’s NORMAL)
Getting sicker and sicker (and younger and younger)
Confused about why they are sick and don’t know how to get better
Etc etc etc

Unfortunately, it takes a lot of effort to get/stay well in the world we live in today.

It’s no longer just as easy as…

Taking some extra vitamin c
Or drinking extra water
Or eating better
Or avoiding fast food
Or washing hands

I mean all of these things are great and helpful but not one of them alone or even together is enough to combat what we have to deal with.

It takes a lot more and lot more *specific* information to understand…

Why we’re sick
How to get unsick
And how to actually get well/heal

So when you’re sick and tired of being sick and tired, just know that there is hope and that you don’t have to keep living like that.

But also know…

You have to be ready to change.

You have to be able to look at things differently.

You have to be open-minded.

You have to be willing to unlearn things you’ve believed your whole life.

You have to be willing to change your habits and it’s not always easy.

However…

When you gain your life/health and energy back

When you are no longer feeling shackled by feeling sick all of the time

When you finally understand how it all works

When you feel strong, empowered, and healthy

It’s all so worth it.

It’s worth it for

Yourself
Your family
Your children
Your loved ones
Your future
Your descendants
Your planet
Your purpose
Everything and everyone

It’s so much more beyond yourself.

And of course we all want to feel good and be healthy and be our best.

But… it’s about so much more.

It’s about healing.

Physically
Emotionally
Mentally
Spiritually

It’s about hope.

It’s about freedom.

It’s about responsibility.

It’s about discipline.

It’s about confidence.

It’s about compassion.

It’s about love.

To love yourself enough
To love other others enough
To love god/universe/creator/the planet enough
To care about the future enough

To love and care enough to wake TF up.

To love and care enough to change.

To love and care enough to be willing to take your health into your own hands.

To love and care enough about the ones who have been sick and gone before us.

May we not follow the same path of pain, confusion, exhaustion, and feeling helpless.

May we have the courage, the discipline, the clarity, and the desire to make different choices.

And not someday.

But now. ❤️

Here is a recap of my latest Advanced 3:6:9 Cleanse from the Cleanse to Heal book (free digital copy pinned to the top of the page)! *This is in my group Medical Medium 3:6:9 Cleanse if you’d like to join and follow along*

This is literally *everything* I ate/drank, except for a few glasses of water/lemon water that I didn’t document.

To some, it may look like a lot of food. And to others, it may not look like very much.

But honestly, I was pretty much full/satisfied the entire time. Don’t underestimate how much food is actually here because I know the smoothies/salads may not look like a lot, but they are very satisfying.

My goal is to never let myself get hungry on these cleanses, which is something I’ve gotten better at over time.

I used to really struggle on this cleanse eating enough food/leafy greens at dinner and I did a really good job this time. And it takes time to sit down and eat that much salad, so I’m better mentally prepared also.

Not only does this help me keep cravings at bay (because once you are hungry, you will most likely want things you can’t have), but it also serves to protect my adrenals.

If we allow ourselves to get too hungry, our adrenals have to kick in to get us the energy we need, thus draining energy from the adrenals.

So as much of a pain it is, as soon as I’m finished with one meal/snack, I am making sure I have a plan or am prepared for the next thing.

And since this cleanse is all/only raw fruits (frozen fruit counts), veggies, and leafy greens, you will be hungrier faster, need to eat larger quantities than you’d think, and more often than normal.

This is advanced, so it is definitely heavier on the liquids, all raw, and not a lot of variety.

But there are other cleanses that are more flexible.

And I will also say that always having a plan and staying satiated throughout this cleanse (there is ZERO reason to be hungry while cleansing and in fact, you are working against the process if you let yourself get too hungry too often- because we are also fueling your body with the right nutrients to assist in the whole detox/elimination process. If there’s not enough glucose, mineral salts, hydration, etc, the body can’t heal at its most efficient level) really serves you mentally.

When you are satiated/nourished properly, it gives you a mental edge.

It helps keep you focused on the goal.
It helps with healing reactions.
It helps your mind not to wander or obsess about other foods (as much 🤣).
It helps with your energy and stamina throughout the cleanse.
& more.

The reason I like the Advanced cleanse is because it is the most bang for your buck cleanse. It is the most powerful cleanse to get the most toxins out and thus make the greatest difference in your health.

It IS the hardest though, so it is not always the right cleanse for everybody at all times.

However, I feel like if I’m going to do a cleanse for 9 days, I might as well do the most powerful one!

But I did have to work my way up from the original, so there’s nothing wrong with that!

I also love that on this cleanse, there’s literally no “cooking”. Not that I’m really in the kitchen less or anything lol, but I don’t have to use the stove or oven or steamer and that’s kind of a nice break and helps with dishes 🙃

Anyway, I hope this is helpful! ❤️

I find it very irresponsible for people to say that “sugar feeds cancer.”

1. Because it actually doesn’t and I’ll go more into that in a second.
2. Because it leaves out the WHOLE conversation about fruit…

There’s so much complexity around this topic that we have to be careful of making any generalized statements that can be misinterpreted.

So let me ask… what do you think of when you think of sugar or sweets? Or what would one typically try to AVOID if they were cutting back on “sugar”?

Cakes?
Cookies?
Chocolate?
Desserts?
Ice cream?
Candy?
Brownies?
Cinnamon rolls?
Donuts?

The thing about all these “sweets” is that they are not just sugar.

They are almost always also high in FAT.

The fat + sugar combo is what creates insulin resistance.

The fat thickens and slows down the blood, and prevents the glucose from being able to absorb properly.

But isn’t it funny how we just blame the sugar?

Isn’t it funny how we don’t talk about the fat?

Isn’t it funny that we don’t talk about the gluten or grains?

Isn’t it funny that we never follow up the statement with the fact that we should still eat fruit though?

I am not at all condoning processed sugar WITHOUT fat, either.

But I am bringing awareness to the fact that we do a lot of harm with this statement, because whether we mean to or not, we create fear around eating fruit.

When FRUIT contains some of the most powerful compounds and antioxidants available to help strengthen your immune system to fight against abnormal cell growth (if you catch my drift).

But just eating fruit isn’t enough information either.

We need to eat FRUIT WITHOUT FAT.

And that is why the claim “sugar feeds cancer” needs more explanation and context.

This is a very simplified explanation but I hope it helps and I will probably go into more detail another time!

Why I no longer recommend balance and moderation when it comes to food
(Part 2)

And if it’s easier for you to relabel certain categories of foods, try using terms like troublemakers vs healing foods.

But it doesn’t mean we beat ourselves up if we eat any troublemakers.

We simply have awareness around what we are consuming, how it’s affecting us, and the choices we desire to make.

And it’s SO NOT about restriction, which is a major distinction to keep in mind.

It may feel like restriction at first.

And I get that because I was very emotionally attached to food (as I think most people are).

So there’s definitely a transition and mourning/grief process that comes with changing the way you eat and choosing to replace some of the troublemakers with healing foods.

It is hard.

And it is not perfect.

And you will most likely continue to eat troublemakers.

But if you have a strong desire to heal, it will be less and less and you will work towards incorporating healing foods as much as possible.

And it will often look like 2 steps forward, 1 step back. Which is okayyyyy.

When you are so sick, it’s normal to soften up.

And in this softening, you become…

More kind
More gentle
More understanding
More forgiving
And less judgmental

And you realize how counterproductive it is to beat yourself up, so you just give yourself lots of grace and understanding.

You understand this is a process and a journey and you have years and years and decades and decades worth of programming, habits, addictions, and beliefs to overcome and relearn.

So you understand it’s going to take time and you just keep trying and you don’t give up.

And you may feel a little discouraged or disappointed but you don’t let yourself stay there.

There’s a song I discovered lately that I listen to when I’m feeling a bit down on myself for not following my plan closely enough.

It goes…

“If I even for a second catch you thinking that it’s too late, start it over…”

To remind myself to choose again.

To start over

It’s not too late.

We have the option to choose again in each moment.

No matter how many meals, days, weeks, months, or years that we haven’t chose what we desired, we can choose again now.

Why I no longer recommend balance and moderation when it comes to food
(Part 1)

I used to believe in “balance” and “moderation “

And honestly this concept was born as a result to create a healthier relationship with food (as it is for most people, I believe).

And if this is where you’re currently at or where you’re headed, that is okay!

This is a great transition! And a very necessary step for a lot of people.

But now there are things that I know about sickness and health that make that concept obsolete for me now.

And I can’t recommend this concept for people who are sick anymore.

First of all, balance and moderation are terms that are very subjective.

For one person, it may be eating all of the food groups every day.

For another, it may be eating a salad with every meal.

For another, it may mean overindulging and using “balance” as an excuse.

None of this is bad or good. It just is what it is. And depends on where you’re at.

I was a HUGE advocate of balance and moderation for several years. And it served me during that time to get to where I was going.

I was so afraid of nutrient deficiencies, so I believed we needed to eat all of the things.

Also high fat. Even though I didn’t have a gallbladder.

Dairy
Gluten
Eggs
Meat
Little fruit
Lots of veggies
Lots of butter
Lots of pork
Decent amount of caffeine
Vinegars
Natural flavors
Tuna
Seafood
Oils
Fats/sugars combined

And I got sick. … really effin’ sick.

And Now I know why.

And now I believe that you can eat that way for awhile.

But if you get sick, you have to keep some things out in order to heal.

And a lot of people don’t want to hear that.

And I get it, because I freaking love food.

And I love bread and cheese and pizza and ice cream and just not worrying about what I’m eating.

But I also love feeling good.

And not being addicted to food and have it control my life and emotions and feelings.

I love not having energy issues, severe nerve pain throughout my body, brain fog, insomnia, headaches, panic, anxiety, depression, etc. I could literally go on and on.

Part 2 is coming soon about how to rephrase all of this!

I have a lot to say about this lol

There is beauty and power in the transition.

A lot of my life lately has been “in the transition”

In the transition of healing…
In the transition of growing…
In the transition of learning…
In the transition of surrender…
In the transition of letting go…

And the sucky part about being in any kind of transition (whether it’s physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual), you want the result as quickly as possible.

And sometimes it feels like it’s not working.

And sometimes it feels like it’s taking forever.

And sometimes you want to give up because you’re just tired of trying so hard.

But it only takes that one glimmer of hope.

That one day.
That one feeling.
That one experience.
That one realization.
That one conversation.

To realize that everything you’ve been doing is ACTUALLY working.

And it keeps you going.

I’ve learned that there’s usually more time in the transition period that feels messy, confusing, and uncertain than the moments that it all feels worth it.

And once you come to expect that and you get comfortable with that, it all gets a little easier…

It helps you be more…

Patient
Compassionate
Grateful
Forgiving
Loving
Understanding
Resilient
Faithful
Trusting
& Confident

You learn what it takes.

You learn not to give up.

You learn to keep going.

You learn to keep going, even when it doesn’t look like it’s working.

You learn to keep going, ESPECIALLY when it doesn’t look like it’s working.

You learn more deeply about yourself and what you’re capable of.

You learn what persistence and consistency (NOT perfection) can do.

You learn what truly matters to you.

And idk… this all makes for a more rich life experience..

So… when things feel hard, ugly, messy, uncertain, or painful…

Just remember that the transition is still…

Beautiful
Powerful
Necessary
Humbling
& Part of your journey

You will get through it.
You will look back.
And you will be glad you didn’t give up.

❤️

There are so many theories as to why people are sick these days.

It used to feel like such a mystery to me.

Why do some people get cancer and some don’t?

Why can this person eat anything they want and not gain weight and this other person gains weight just by “looking” at unhealthy foods?

Why can some people seem to do everything right and still get terribly sick while others can smoke and drink and pollute their body their whole life and never have any major issues?

I think we’ve all been convinced by medical research and science by this point, that it’s our “genes.”

That explanation is now used for EVERYTHING.

If there’s something wrong that they can’t figure out, it’s your genes.

Didn’t you know? All of a sudden, in the last 50 years, all of our genes are just going bad? But only some people’s. And we don’t know why the genes are going bad, but that’s just how it is.
….

Viruses, pathogens, toxic heavy metals, and a sluggish, stagnant liver are responsible for most of peoples mysterious health problems.

Your body is not attacking itself (it’s attacking the virus causing your issues) and your genes didn’t just suddenly expire.

Perhaps there are physical things occurring that science just isn’t aware of yet.

Perhaps there are physical things occurring that science can’t measure yet.

Perhaps there are logical reasons as to why we are sick that give people a lot more hope than just “deal with it- it’s your genetics.”

If you are dealing with chronic, mysterious symptoms and you remove the foods that feed the bugs, strengthen your liver, and cleanse your body… you can heal. ❤️

You. Guys.

I made some really awesome food this week!

It’s been about a year since I first started introducing MM(Medical Medium)-friendly foods.

At first, I was very intimidated, overwhelmed, and lacking confidence in how to cook this way and make it look good, taste good, and feel good.

I wanted to give up a lot. And just go back to my old ways because it was easier and faster and cheaper and and and.

But I knew I couldn’t/didn’t actually want to, so I just kept trying things and figuring it out.

Fast forward a year, and I’m just starting to feel really comfortable, confident, and excited about cooking this way! 😅

Step by step. Day by day. Just baby steps.

None of this has to happen overnight.

So be gentle with yourself.

Be patient with yourself and the process.

Allow room and space for failed experiments and recipes.

Lol because there WILL be lots. 🙃

This way of eating and cooking is not typical so there’s just a lot to learn (and unlearn) and a lot of learning curves.

Strive for progress over perfection.

And know it gets easier and better over time.

The best part? Honestly, it’s the way you start to connect with and listen to your body.

I’m so aware of/sensitive to how different foods make me feel now.

I am in tune with what my body wants and needs.

I still have cravings for things that are not MM-friendly but it’s SOOOOO much less, as I feel truly nourished from all the nutrient-dense food I eat and actually absorb now.

And a lot more often now I have cravings for things like fruit, leafy greens, and certain vegetables. Like truly. I know it sounds crazy but I’m not even exaggerating.

Your body likes feeling good lol.

When you give it what it actually needs, your relationship with food truly changes and transforms.

And my disgust for certain foods continues to grow everyday..

I did not plan or anticipate this, but the following foods have just naturally fallen away and I have no desire to consume them anymore. They’re just no longer in alignment and they don’t get me excited like they used to when I was sick...

❌ Alcohol
❌ Pork
❌ Beef
❌ Tuna
❌ Sour cream
❌ Eggs
❌ Vinegar
❌ Really decadent, rich, fatty desserts
❌ Natural flavors
❌ Soy

Those are just some things I can think of off the top of my head but there might be more.

That is just my personal journey and everyone will experience different things. So I’m not saying mine is the right or wrong way- just sharing my personal experience 🙂

Oh and! It’s always changing, growing, evolving, upgrading, and leveling up.

Below I made MM-friendly potato crust pizzas with cashew cheese, salad with avocado/lemon juice/salt, and cauliflower fettuccine Alfredo (probably my FAVE MM recipe) with brown rice noodles and steamed broccoli 😋

I will post links to recipes in comments! ⬇️
