Proud is an understatement. 💙🥎
Our Thunder 14U team showed exactly what this organization is all about this weekend—grit, growth, and character.
It’s not just about wins and losses… it’s about how our athletes compete, support each other, and represent Thunder on and off the field.
This is a team to watch. 👀💙
Our Thunder 14U girls went 2-3 this weekend, and while the record doesn’t tell the full story, we saw something really special on that field.
Two of those losses were heartbreakers—both by just one run. These girls fought hard every single inning.
And wow… our bats were 🔥
32 total hits
15 extra base hits
AND two in-the-park home runs
But the best moment of the entire weekend had nothing to do with the scoreboard.
After one of our games, an opposing coach (who has coached and umpired for 35+ years) came over to talk to Coach Michael and me. He told us that a play our girls made—a fly ball caught in left by Annika, relayed through MJ, and thrown home to Harper—was the best catch-and-relay play he has seen in his entire career.
We didn’t even get the out… but it was executed perfectly.
Even more meaningful than that, he complimented our girls’ attitudes—their effort, their composure, and the way they carried themselves on the field.
And then… he brought our team a huge box of candy. ❤️
THIS is why I love this team.
THIS is what it’s all about.
As coaches, we were honestly a little teary-eyed. And parents—you should be so proud. These girls represented Thunder with class, grit, and heart all weekend long.
No trophy this time… but a whole lot of wins that matter even more. 💙🥎
