NYFL Early Registration & Important Updates

Dear Parents,
We hope you are having a wonderful year! The NYFL Board has decided to open registration earlier to facilitate game scheduling and allow tackle teams to begin practices sooner. Early registration ensures sufficient participation for each grade level, particularly for tackle football. While registration will remain open until after school starts to accommodate late transfers and late registrations, we encourage early sign-ups to support team formation and preparation.

If you have not made an account you will have to do so to register your child. The Program available for your child will be visible once Registration goes live which is June 8th!
Practice schedules will be finalized once head coaches are confirmed and agree on start dates. Flag football will continue to begin the week of Labor Day as usual.

Additionally, the Board has approved an increase in registration fees following a league-wide comparison. Despite the adjustment, our fees remain among the most affordable. This increase will help offset costs for approximately 100 new helmets, ensuring compliance with updated safety standards. All funds remain within NYFL and are exclusively allocated for equipment, mouthguards, footballs, and other league necessities.

Participation Eligibility Reminder:
Students registering for flag football (K–2nd, Pre-K is NOT included) or tackle football (3rd–6th) must:
• Reside within the Northwestern Elementary or Howard Elementary School districts
• Be enrolled in Northwestern or Howard Schools
Students outside the Northwestern School Corporation are ineligible and should contact their local football leagues for participation options.
