The observer

The operational program has been installed 20, 30, 40, 50 years ago. It is based on lived experiences. Repeated lessons that become expectations. Becoming frameworks and mindsets that create your observed world based, at that time, on your survival of an environment that likely no longer exists. You are creating that expectation of outcome with a old pattern of noticing. An observation of confirmed biased expectations becoming your reality.

What if you were to notice something different? Question the operating program. Begin to expect something better. Build new frameworks and mindsets, create new patterns of thriving instead of simple survival. Can this be an immediate change? Yes. Can this take time to change the old patterns? Yes. It is up to you.

When we shift to something new we can expect set backs as we learn new lessons or stumble because they are new and not as recognizable or comfortable as the old lessons. Not as confirmed. The old patterns are easily recognizable and easily repeatable but, with patience and practice we can begin to notice the better expectations. Create a new thriving life.

Practice noticing the change and celebrate it. Let the smile wash over you. Let the new feelings in. Confirm the change with noticing the new pattern and the new outcomes. Confrm a new expectation of outcome and learn new lessons. Notice.

While it’s easy to get someone sweating it’s much more difficult to get someone moving more efficiently.

Let's do a thought experiment. Image a gym full of guys and gals lifting heavy weights doing traditional training. Putting in their daily grind. Now, take away all the barbells, pulleys and machines with these exercises. Do those movement resemble anything you do in your daily life and career? Some of them, right? But do the mechanics look the same when you compare them against daily movement?

There is a lot of variability that is missing in this style of training. A very constant steady load in a very specific range of motion working an isolated muscle. This is a great training modality to build strength in isolation and cause hypertrophy. The issue is that these exercises become the only expression of strength. Without variability the body is not trained to organize that force in unpredictable environments. That strength has difficulty adapting to any changes or active weights shifts that often happen in daily life. This leads to a number of injuries outside of those ranges of motion.

Not to say that this modality of training is bad for you. There are health risk factors that are very much improved with many different exercise programs. I'm just asking you to consider adding variable training methods to balance out your body and health of movement.

Let me clarify what I do as a Biomechanics physical trainer. I train your body to move in better alignment and sequence as a cohesive unit. This frees up Range of motion and stability of your joints to prevent unnecessary wear and tear of the joints in the future.

If you are able bodied and beginning to notice the tightness and restrictions with discomfort of the mobility of your body then biomechanics training is a good first choice.

If you are suffering from pain then you need to seek medical attention first. Once it is determined that you do not have a medical condition, physical trauma or you have completed your prescribed Physical Therapy. When you have been medically released to do physical training (with or without restrictions) than biomechanics training is again a good option for you to rebuild a solid foundation to take you further into reclaiming your life after insult or injury.

I DO NOT diagnose or treat any medical condition. I do however, assess the tonus of the muscles and tissues that hold your structure and joints in particular inefficient positions statically and dynamically . I train those muscles with physical corrective exercise to realign and stabilize those joints to operate in a functional and strengthened Range of motion. Prioritizing structural stability and sequenced kinetic lines to utilize the entire structure instead of one muscle in isolation. I teach you how to move correctly to help avoid future wear and tear on your physical body. I train strength in motion.

I prefer to be preemptive with this training before the damage is caused by poor mechanics in life and sport. When you notice the discomfort in your life and sport come see me before the damage is done. If the damage is done and pain has set in I'll refer you to your medical professional. Once you get your medical release then we can get to work.

After a discussion with a medical professional I found it necessary to clarify my intention and scope.

Vocabulary is not just more words.
It is more awareness, more precision, more possibility.

Create more possibilities to understand and express yourself to others and the world.

There is a particular sequence to unwind the human body.

Rotation and Translation.

Like a twisted garden hose that is rolled. If you simply force it to straighten, it will often bind and kink somewhere other than where you want to straighten it. We have to rotate in the opposite direction as we cause traction to prevent the bindings and kinks, right? A hose is one piece of tube with a more linear pattern.

What about a system like a necklace or bracelet. What happens often when you untangle them improperly? The impossible binding and kink that ruins the jewelry.

Now, we have a multi joint system of the human body that is tensioned with kinetic chains and fascia with lingering discomfort in the hip. After you have a medical release to do corrective exercise we can look at the structural deviations that are the cause of the discomfort. We observe an internally rotated femoral head of the leg, possible pelvic torsion with a tilted sacrum, an observed S curve in the spine with a translated rotation of the ribs...if the obvious point of the hip is addressed solely then what happens to the rest?

If the hip is not the core rotation then now we may be looking at SI joint pain, lower back pain, a pinch between the shoulder blades, nerve pain in the shoulders and hands as a consequence.

This is why Biophysics, biomechanics and corrective exercise is important in unwinding the body in the best sequence. To prevent the future problems cause by bindings and kinks.

Why are you training the arch of my foot when my knee hurts?, why are you training the muscles of my ribs when my hip hurts? Why are you training my left neck when my right shoulder hurts? All great questions.

Let's zoom out with me to see the bigger connections.

Sure may not be immediate mobilization but I can almost guarantee a better long lasting relief with this tiered approach and fewer consequential discomforts.

I've got a couple irons in the fire.
I may not be serving the area i was in previously but I haven't quit.
Hopefully I can find my tribe that will appreciate what I offer.
I'm finally 10 years ahead of the curve, with training and experience, on this emerging modality yet I felt disregarded in the area I was in. Time to get loud.
Here is to a new beginning...
