Their classes are 6:00 to 6:30 on Tuesday and Thursday. You are welcome to four trial lessons before you commit to an agreement. I have just discovered that I have missed numerous responses to posts that I have made. I can't begin to imagine what those of you who have responded the posts may be thinking of me and what kind of business person I am. I do know that I have some one out there who tries desperately to continuously stay in facebook business. I have for the most part gotten them under control on my cell but I am in search of a FB resolution. It will come in due time.

Karate is still as exciting as it has ever been but there is some doubt in the minds of probable students. Karate is for all ages male and female. You do have to decide whether or not you want to be mentally and physically fit.

Hello everyone! The trip to Okinawa was an exciting one and I enjoyed myself immensely. The training is always great and Sensei is very personable with all when we are training. As soon as I arrived Hanshi Genka and Kyoshi Asato will grab me and I lost to most of the group until class time or late in the evening. They have taken me to many places on Okinawa and these are places I have not known before. These are my best friends and I will always be indebted to them. Oh, let me not forget how Asato's wife feeds us when he takes us to his house.

No you don't have to compete in tournaments but there are time when we have to challenge ourselves and what better way can you do this. It makes no difference how old or how young you are. It is amazing that there are so many people who enjoy the martial arts but won't take the time to get in and train. I have been tremendously blessed to have some outstanding young men and women join but they only stay for a short time and then they are gone. That is not necessarily bad but they have cut themselves short by not getting into the journey. What we learn today is nothing more than progress for tomorrow. Karate is a great catalyst for that learning. Think about it!

Annually we do the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Kick-A-Thon and this year I have just flat fallen behind. We are going to do the Kick-A-Thon this week on Tuesday with make-ups in other classes. This is such a worthwhile event and I can't let this go by without a response. Over the years we have raised thousands of dollars and I would very much like to continue this. Our class numbers are very low now but we will still do our best. Each student has a goal of 2000 kicks and $200.00.This is a challenge. So, if you would like to help us in this endeavor you may go online and contribute directly to St. Jude under the name of Kokomo School Of Self Defense. I thank all of you who will do this.

It seems that vacations have come earlier this year than ever before. The dojo attendance has been very low but I am sure that all of you have been enjoying yourself where ever you are. Just a note to let you know that the dojo is cool now and ready for you to come in and get some workout time in your belt.
The 2018 Haynes-Apperson Battle Of Independence is scheduled for this Saturday at Memorial Gym. Yes, I want to see all of you as you return from your vacations. I certainly hope that all of you have enjoyed yourself in all that you have done while you were away. Welcome back!
