Just another day in the office! Looking forward to spring Brown bear on Kodiak Island!

The one thing I may enjoy more than hunting! Most of the time I’m in the field during prime coho season, but I do manage to get one to chase a streamer towards the tail end of the run! Beautiful coho on the Robe River in Valdez!

This hunter made an excellent shot and tagged this big mature boar. It seems we were surrounded by bears this season! This toad had a skull a little over 20” and earned him a Boone and Crockett entry. Front paw I estimated at 6.5” or better putting him roughly at 7-7.5’ squared.

The rhythm of my life! No doubt about it! Blessed to be where I been and where I’m going next ! Full steam ahead!

Hammertime in the Alaska Range! Back in the spring to Kodiak for brown bear season!

Calling in a 8 foot grizzly to 180 yards is quite intense! We spotted this bear about 3/4 of a mile away with one calf call. It came in on a shoe string. Hunter made a great shot dropped him in his tracks!

Taking the long way back to civilization to avoid a major storm in the pass! Beaver pilot Dean sending it through HellsGate!

Making our way back to the mesa top cabin at 7k ft during the sheep hunt was quite the sight to see. 14 miles in one day in sheep country with bad weather the whole way it seemed. We did manage to eat like a couple of fatso’s that night to say the least! 😂

In search of the biggest of bears!

Cruising the shoreline on Kodiak Island in search of a mature boar brown bear is quite the thrill! Taking on the nasty weather for upwards of 16 hrs on a pitching vessel can be a true test in many physical and mental ways. It can go from zero to hundred in a blink of an eye!
