October 24. Who's hiking with us? 🐾

Tails on Trails is coming back to Baker Creek Preserve, and this year we're keeping it simple:

🥾 One 3-mile community hike
🎶 Live acoustic music
☕ Coffee
🔥 S'mores around the fire
🐶 Lots of dogs
❤️ And a morning spent helping pets

Every dollar we raise supports the Nomar & Mia Compassion Fund and helps pet families facing emergency veterinary expenses.

Registration is open now, and there's no required fee to participate. Donations are optional and very much appreciated.

Not in Knoxville? You can also register for Hike From Anywhere and do your own 3-mile hike wherever you live.

Let's fill this trail.

We’re officially on our way to $10,000. ❤️🐾

Tails on Trails has now raised $1,315.66 for the Nomar & Mia Compassion Fund — 13% of our goal!

Thank you to everyone who has donated already. We even had someone sign up this week to do our Hike From Anywhere from Galveston, Texas, and make a donation along with her registration.

The Nomar & Mia Compassion Fund helps pet families facing emergency veterinary expenses. I created it in memory of my cats Mia and Nomar, and my goal is to raise $10,000 through Tails on Trails this year.

Still a long way to go, but we're moving. 😊

You can hike with us in Knoxville, Hike From Anywhere, or simply make a donation. I'll put the link in the comments.

🚨 In case you missed it…

Tails on Trails is coming up October 24! 🐾

We're doing things a little differently this year. Instead of the big vendor market, I'm creating more of a fall morning gathering at Baker Creek.

🥾 One 3-mile community hike
🎶 Live acoustic music
☕ Coffee + baked goods
🔥 S'mores around the fire
🐶 Circus Dog showcase
🎨 Memory rocks
📸 Pet portraits
❤️ Our Memory Wall

And it all helps raise money for the Nomar & Mia Compassion Fund, which helps pet families facing emergency veterinary expenses.

Not in Knoxville? New this year, you can also Hike From Anywhere and do your own 3-mile hike wherever you live.

We’re less than two months away from Tails on Trails. 🐾

This year I’m stripping away some of the extra stuff and getting back to what I want this morning to feel like: a beautiful hike, acoustic music, coffee, s’mores around the fire, dogs and good people.

This is a shot from last year with Brandy (on the left), who’s been part of Tails on Trails from the beginning and will be back out on the trail with us again this year.

This is where we'll be hiking on October 24. 🐾🥾

We'll start together at Baker Creek Preserve and head out for a 3-mile loop through the Urban Wilderness.

Before and after the hike, stick around for live acoustic music, coffee, s'mores, dogs, pet portraits, memory rocks and a relaxed fall morning with a bunch of people who love pets and being outside.

And every dollar we raise helps pet families facing emergency veterinary expenses through the Nomar & Mia Compassion Fund.

Registration is open now — I'll put the link in the comments.

See you on the trail. ❤️

I'm getting excited!

I went out to Baker Creek Preserve in Knoxville this morning, the site of our 3rd annual Tails on Trails event. A hike to save pets.

I hope you'll join me for a hike, s'mores, live music, coffee, baked goodies, pet portraits, our memory wall and memory walks, dog training demos and more.

It will be a wonderful time for a good cause as we are raising money for the Nomar and Mia Compassion Fund to help pet parents who can't afford their ER vet bills.

Oct 24: 8 am - 11:30 am.

Donation is optional, but it is so appreciated. You can sign up at the link the comments.

These are some of the people who hiked with us at Tails on Trails in the past. And the two cats in the photo are the reason any of this exists in the first place.

I had Nomar for 16 years and Mia for 20. Tails on Trails started as a way to honor them and has grown into a way to help other people get more time with the pets they love.

We're doing it again October 24 at Baker Creek Preserve. A 3-mile hike, live acoustic music, coffee, s'mores, dogs and a bunch of good people coming together to help save pets.

And new this year, if you're not in Knoxville, you can Hike From Anywhere and do your own 3-mile hike wherever you live.

Registration is open. I'll put the link in the comments. 🐾

Registration for Tails on Trails 2026 is officially OPEN! 🐾

We're back at Baker Creek Preserve in Knoxville on Saturday, October 24, and I'm changing things up a little this year.

Think less festival and more fall morning gathering.

A 3-mile hike. Live acoustic music. Coffee. S'mores. Dogs. Memory rocks. Community. And a morning spent helping save pets through the Nomar & Mia Compassion Fund.

And for the first time, you don't have to be in Knoxville to participate. 🌎

Our new "Hike From Anywhere" option lets you register and hike or walk your own 3 miles wherever you live on October 24.

There is no required registration fee for either option. Donations are encouraged and every dollar helps pet families facing emergency veterinary expenses.

🥾 Knoxville or anywhere else—we'd love to have you hiking with us.

🐾 Tails on Trails 2026: Hike to Save Pets
A Fall Morning Gathering
📅 Saturday, October 24, 2026
📍 Baker Creek Preserve – Knoxville, TN

Tails on Trails is a fall morning of hiking, music, coffee, connection, and community—all coming together to help save pets through the Nomar & Mia Compassion Fund.

Whether you're hiking with your dog, honoring a pet who's touched your life, or simply looking for a meaningful way to spend a beautiful October morning, you'll find a welcoming community of people who love animals and the outdoors.

This year we're intentionally creating a different kind of experience. Instead of a large vendor market, we're focusing on what people have told us they love most: the hike, the music, the conversations, the dogs, and the sense of community.
