A lot of today’s pool fans assume template racks were always accepted in professional pool.
They weren’t.
The first generation of plastic templates created enormous backlash at the professional level because many players believed the break was no longer behaving naturally.
When those systems worked, they often produced little more than repeatable trick shots:
automatic-looking wing balls
predictable 1-ball paths
reduced sensitivity to speed and spin
engineered consistency replacing ex*****on
And when they failed, they failed badly.
Professional pool pushed back hard.
Some of the sport’s biggest events abandoned templates entirely around 2011–2012.
For a while, the door was closed. Matchroom actually said "We were embarassed and will NEVER use a template again" Derby City said NEVER!!!!
It took almost four years for professional pool to even consider giving templates another chance. US Open had had enough of rack mechanics... And Accu-Rack got the green light..

Well it's been over a decade since Great White hit the ground running put the USA on the map for premium chalk making and sent one Japanesse competitor to a lab to analyze our Thresher... They even came back same size as us LOL... We went with a round shape as a throwback to the origination of chalk and we went white for the same reason.... Non-staining but many rooms never cleaned their tables and required blue.. Mako and Thresher followed after the original White...

Now we are about to release ATOMIC... Power of the Atom keeps the cueball clean without the use of nano-powders...

We will keep Great White in Mako, Thresher and Sandshark as Great White V2.. No magnets and lower price point since magnets are expensive...

My question is do we go square since so many others that followed us went round??? I think we are going that way as thats always been the first thing I hear... "Wish it was a cube".. Tell me your thoughts... Just don't say "butterfly" as that is a patented chalk shape out of China and only that maker can produce that shape regradless of who's label they put on it.....
