My first virtual private yoga session is done and was a success! My friend, , requested some strengthening drills to help him start inverting in headstand. We spent a lot of time warming up the core; shoulders, abs, hips, and back, and he did so well! One more private to go today with a very sweet family 💜

It’s only been a little over a week, but man, do I miss teaching groups. This photo is from the class I taught last month (thanks to for the photo). I was definitely riding a ‘teaching high’ afterwards 💚

It’s been really hard to get myself motivated this week. There are things I want/need to do, like filming and posting, but I’m honestly in a little funk. Like all, I’m just taking it one day at a time. This is when the real yoga starts.

I spent the last 2 hours filming a class to share with you all— it sure ain’t perfect, there are many things I’d like to fix, like the framing, but they will get better with time 💜 I also hope to get more comfortable talking to the camera haha. I’ll share a link soon so you can practice with me at home. Thanks everyone!

Upon editing this video and seeing that I didn’t quite fit within the square Instagram frame, I thought it reflected how I feel about yoga and practice in general. For me, I think it’s more fun to step out of the box and find your own way to move to see what works best for you. Every body is different, so I truly believe yoga can and should be molded to best fit your needs. If that means you aren’t perfectly aligned or moving in an unconventional way, encourage yourself to step out of the box to find something new💕

I’ve been teaching this flow for the past week or so in hopes this will help other prepare for the holiday season. The original video is 5 minutes, so this is extremely sped up. Please message me if you’d like a breakdown of the postures, once I have more time I’m planning to post the real time video on IGTV.

A variation on the flow my classes have been working on this week and last. Focusing on compression for hip flexor/core strength to bring us into or towards an L sit, while using the extension of the hips to eventually find full floor bow. Sped up A BUNCH.
:
There are ways to make this flow easier, as there are ways to make it more challenging. Many of the transitions in this flow I offered to my level 2 class on Tuesday mornings. Whether you’re in level 1, 2, or an all levels class with me, my goal is to explore most options ☺️
