We are creeping up on the season of fitness pressure. It’s, oh, you enjoyed the holidays, now it's time to plan for New Years *ahh* *scary*... you get it, we have all seen it before.⁣

I want to offer a practical approach to this whole “new to incorporating fitness into your daily routine” without feeling frustrated and pressured. ⁣

-Start off small: walk 3 times a week, do a home workout 2x a week, whatever can fit into your schedule now…start there⁣

-Make attainable goals: if you want to do 75 hard, go for it, I won't stop you. But take into consideration your schedule, your lifestyle, and how you respond to pressure. If that is way out of reach for you, maybe start with something smaller and with fewer rules.⁣

-Make a schedule: we are all busy. If you don’t make time, it won't happen. ⁣

-Do something you love: there are so many amazing forms of fitness. Try some out, and see what you like. Find something that makes you feel good, so you will be coming back for more.⁣

-Allow for your plan to follow your seasons: if you are swamped at work, try starting with a low time commitment. If you are hyped up and ready, do something that feels like a challenge! Lasting injury? Rehab it. Starting from scratch? Learn the basics.⁣

I’m tired of seeing people who have been hurt by the fitness industry. Who feel beat down, tired of trying, and frustrated. Let’s try to make this year a little better, shall we? Support each other, help each other find their path, and stop comparing one journey to the next. 🤍⁣

Okay, yeah. Not every workout is going to be just the best thing ever. However, fitness 𝗜𝗦 and 𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗟𝗗 feel fun. ⁣

Change it up 📝⁣
Join a friend 👯‍♀️⁣
Blast some music 🎶⁣
And have fun being fit (yes, you are being fit by practicing fitness) 💪🏼⁣

I see a lot of people struggle with a consistent healthy lifestyle. They push really hard for a few weeks and thennn... well life. ⁣

Maybe it’s a hard week at work or an emotional time or maybe it’s just your period and you feel like p**p. These times that we want to quit are the perfect opportunities to push.⁣

PUSH👉🏼𝗚𝗥𝗢𝗪𝗧𝗛⁣
CHALLENGES👉🏼𝗚𝗥𝗢𝗪𝗧𝗛⁣

It’s hard some days. But remember what you are fighting for. Remember your goals. And the good news is, it doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s a 𝗱𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘆, 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁. ⁣

Feed that body of yours with good food. Move that body well. Respect it. And carry on my fit friends 👏🏼⁣

Embrace the uncomfortable. ⁣

If you were to stop every time things got hard, you wouldn’t make it very far now would you? It’s because that time in between when things get uncomfortable and when you finish, that’s the growth. ⁣

So work on your response to discomfort. Tell yourself that this is exactly where you want to be. ⁣

Monday Cheer.⁣
[cheer being workout dogs because no matter how your workout was, they are proud of you 🐶]⁣

As I was working out this morning, trying to get back into the routine, I reminded myself of 𝗪𝗛𝗬. ⁣
And I asked myself these questions (that I commonly refer back to in a note on my phone)⁣

What do you 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 about fitness? ⁣
Do you find 𝗷𝗼𝘆 in moving your body? ⁣
How do you relate 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 your body and 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 it well? (This one especially can be hard to deconstruct- it’s not about weight or appearance- unlearn that)⁣ 🤍⁣

If you have a hard time answering these questions, that’s okay. They are hard at first. But they don’t have to be. There is 𝗷𝗼𝘆 and 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗼𝗺 in loving your body and serving it well. ⁣

𝗚𝗘𝗧 𝗕𝗔𝗖𝗞 𝗨𝗣⁣

When life gets hard... ⁣

𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗬 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗡𝗚⁣

When things don’t go as planned...⁣

𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞 𝗔𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗 𝗜𝗧⁣

Life is tough. Things happen. Unexpected things. And we aren’t promised an easy life. Where you see strength and growth is when you are knocked down and you 𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗘. ⁣

I see it so often. People feel like they are losing “momentum”, they can’t find their “motivation”, or simply life is just too hard. And yes, there are always seasons that are easier and seasons that are harder. But what if you always had your own back, you were always there to pick yourself back up? Relying on habits, consistency. Knowing things that help you feel happy or strong or confident. ⁣

𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 yourself and who you are.⁣

I cannot guarantee an easy life. But I can tell you, life can be pretty darn incredible.⁣

You can do it.⁣
Be strong.⁣
Step by step.⁣
Believe in yourself.⁣
I believe in you.⁣

Okay, for real. Hydration is one of the most important aspects of fitness, recovery, and general wellbeing. ⁣

If you aren’t sure about your hydration, track it for a day or two. And adjust accordingly. ⁣

And I know some of you guys are hitting the water mid-workout for a little break because you know I won’t yell at your for water breaks because I love hydration 👀 but I know what you are up to 🧐⁣

Hydrate and be happy. ⁣

Remember, you are strong and capable. ⁣
You deserve rest and nourishment.⁣

Take care of yourself. That might look like some self care today. That might look like a workout. That might look like an early bedtime. That might look like saying no. Whatever it does look like for you, do it with intent and care. ⁣

I’ve said it a million times before: life is hard and it doesn’t play by your rules. Make yourself someone you can depend on. ⁣

Because you can do it ✨⁣

Taylor says this to me all the time. Usually about silly stuff such as, when I was wash reds and whites together or when I say “I don’t need to p*e now” and then I’m stuck without a bathroom for hours and my bladder is full 🥴😂⁣

But we do sometimes take these words in more serious times⁣.⁣

Life is full of choices. And good or bad, those have consequences. And you have to live with them. That doesn’t mean that you can’t make another choice to change or reconcile what consequences that have already occurred. But it means that each choice does have a consequence however permanent or temporary it may be. That’s why the power of choice is so important. You have control in your choices. You have the power to change your life. ⁣

You have to make the choices.⁣
To get the consequences.⁣
Good or bad.⁣

Like the choice to go full send in a workout and end up on the floor a sweaty mess 😜⁣

Working out solo? In a group? In your house? At the gym? Class or open floor? Here or there?⁣

I really don’t care how you do it. ⁣
And you shouldn’t either.⁣

Okay, whoa, hang in there with me.⁣
Let me first say, you workout however and wherever you want. Do what’s going to get you going each week. ⁣

This is what I’m saying: train your brain to be able to workout in any situation. Because you are doing it for YOU. Nobody else. It’s for YOUR brain. YOUR body. Because of YOUR habits. ⁣

So however you train, just do it for you. ⁣
I don’t care how you do it, just do it.⁣
Stop being your own roadblock. ⁣

Do what you like to do. What feels good. What works for you. ⁣

Prioritize movement you will do consistently.⁣
And if you aren’t sure what that is, try out a few different things. ⁣

Movement+Nutrition+Consistency ⁣

That’s the formula.⁣
