After a tough weekend in Kensucky last weekend, the Stars bounced back in the Perfect Game Baseball - Knoxville Southern Masters NIT. An unreal event that produced a Skills Competition on Friday for 9u, 10u, 11u, & 12u. The events were Homerun King, Mr. Accurate, Mr. Quick Feet, & Team Around the Horn with unreal EQUAL competition all weekend.

The Stars went 3-0-1 against some great competition across the board!
Saturday:
Game 1 we beat a solid Morristown Trojans team that never quit.
Game 2 we tied with the ETN Crusaders that absolutely smash the baseball.
Sunday:
This put us as the 2 seed and only 1 team went 2-0 out of the 10 teams!
Game 3 we played the ETN Crusaders again in a GREAT baseball game that we came out on top in.
In the Championship we saw the #1 seed NoChance who absolutely smashed the baseball all game. We were down 9-0 in the top 3 and our Stars tallied 10 hits and 5 walks and SCORED 17 RUNS!! We ended up winning 18-15 in a slugfest! Our Stars never quit and we could not be more proud!!

#21 Carson Williams got PG MVP Pitcher of the tournament. But each player had a key moment this weekend that I will never take for granted or forget!

Knoxville Stars WIN!! We went 4-0 in the Grand Slam 42 Celebration at Camp Jordan.
Went 2-0 in Pool Play against the Ooltewah Owls & Signal Summitt. Much respect to their well coached teams.
We started Bracket Play as the 1 seed out of 9 teams.
To be honest, Sunday was not our best baseball despite the scores. We went 2-0 on Sunday and never trailed all tournament! We scored 41 runs and gave up 6. Pitching was great but our bats and base running need to improve.
We had a great devotion this morning in 1 Corinthians 3:14 as we learned “Our Actions Matter”
Our Tournament MVPs:
#10 Brenton Mitchell & Brooks Kelley

#10 Brenton went 5-6 (2 singles & 2 doubles)on the weekend, recording 6 RBIs, scoring 5runs, with 5 walks, and ZERO STRIKEOUTS.

#1 Brooks went 7-11(5 singles, 1 double, & 1 triple) recording 9 RBIs, and scoring 4 runs. Brooks also started Game 1 on Sunday and picked up the win throwing 2.1 innings and giving up 0 hits, but walked 4 while striking out 5. Cam also recorded 5 putouts on the weekend.

Stars head north this weekend for the USSSA Hard 90 in Clarksville, IN.

Another solid weekend to be cheering for the Knoxville Stars as we went 5-0 in the Grand Slam River City Classic Tournament at Warner Park.
Went 2-0 in Pool Play against the Mission Prospects & No Chance Wildthings. Both are well coached teams.
We started Bracket Play as the 4 seed out of 16 teams. Our Stars on Sundays are hard to beat when they continue to throw “body blows” by punching back. We saved that knockout punch for late innings and that is just what our Stars did! Went 3-0 on Sunday and coming from behind in the last inning against a GOOD Ooltewah Owls team.

Our Tournament MVPs:
#44 Cason Walker & #1 Cameron Reynolds

Cason went 6-10(4 singles & 2 triples) on the weekend, recording 6 RBIs, scoring 5 runs, with 2 walks, and striking out once. Cason had 2 BIG putouts in the outfield and also pitched an inning in relief in Game 1 on Saturday.

#1 Cameron went 6-13(4 singles, 1 double, & 1 triple) recording 4 RBIs, scoring 6 runs, with 2 walks, and striking out once. Cameron also started Game 1 on Saturday and picked up the win throwing 2innings and giving up 0 hits, but walked 3 and had 1 HBP while striking out 4. Cam also recorded 10 putouts on the weekend.

Stars will be back in Chattanooga, TN this weekend in the GrandSlam 42 Celebration.

Our Knoxville Stars will be reaching out to our supporters about our Hit-A-Thon on Thursday, April 23rd. This will be fun event that will be Live on Facebook at 6pm on that Thursday, April 23rd.

So proud of our Knoxville Stars this weekend as we went 4-0 in the Perfect Game SEC TN MLB Opening Weekend Tournament.
Went 2-0 in Pool Play with 2 tough draws in the Fusion & SBA Bombers. Both are well coached teams.
We started Bracket Play as the 3 seed out of 10 teams. Our BEST baseball happened on Sunday allowing 5 runs total and scoring 30 runs! We faced a tough Tennessee Tigers team and our friends in the Murfreesboro Braves!

Our #25 Brooks Kelley got PG MVP going 4-8 on the weekend, recording 9 RBIs, scoring 6 runs, with ZERO strikeouts. Brooks also pitched the Championship Game throwing 4 innings and giving up 5 hits, 3 runs(1ER), 1 walk, while striking out 3.

So proud of Stars for battling last weekend in the Perfect Game Baseball - Knoxville ETN Select Championship.
Saturday we played (2) 10u teams that helped prepare us for Sunday. We won our 9u Division against 2 teams that are well coached and just flat out play good baseball.
But our Stars came out on top due to great pitching, hitting, and defense.
No one Star lost or won us a game but it was a TEAM effort that helped the Stars be successful.

Now our Stars head to Nashville to play in a PG tournament versus so elite competition.

When you get a text message in the middle of the day that says, “I had to pick Brenton up from school and I need you to talk to him soon” always worries me. But this FaceTime will be one I always remember!
As of December 15th, Brenton Wayne Mitchell accepted Jesus Christ into his heart and asked to be saved by the blood. I am so proud of Brenton and even more happy for Dax & Angel. Please join me in celebrating a lifetime celebration for Brenton and his family. So proud of #10!!
