Stiffness matters... stop smirking! 😏
Across our range, you'll see various "flex" options - Soft, Medium, Firm.
The stiffness of a board plays an essential role when it comes to handling.
Similar to the suspension on a car or bike, how shock absorbent a board is will determine how stable it is at various speeds and the level of comfort.
🤔How Do I Choose? 🤔
✅Soft - Ideal for cruising around town.
✅Medium - Great for freestyle and free ride.
✅Firm - For the downhill speed demons.
✅Remember this one line - Slow and Soft, Fast and Firm
📝A Deeper Explanation 📝
Soft - A flexible board will absorb much more of the gnarly bumps, potholes, and curb edges that the tarmac can throw at you. For cruising around campus, comfort is the main priority, as you're just looking not to spill your coffee rather than thinking about speed.
Medium - You can get by cruising on a medium flex board, but where it thrives is in freestyle and free ride. You'll need a degree of squish for 'pop' and to land your jumps, but stiffening up slightly adds the required stability for control at mid-level speeds.
Firm - A stiff board is a necessity for hardcore downhill riders, where avoiding the dreaded speed wobbles is essential. The firm boards are designed with one thing in mind - maximum control and stability at high speeds. These are also great for heavier riders.⬇️
