2nd time in 3 years for the girls! The boys team finished 2nd with a GPA of 3.59, and there was a total of 19 wrestlers from both teams that were recognized by the National Wrestling Coaches Association as Scholar All-Americans.

With an overall team GPA of 3.808 the Lady Vikings take the top spot in the state!

Congratulations to our state wrestlers and all of our wrestlers on another historic season!

All 4 wrestlers contributed to the team’s first top ten finish at the state tournament, out of 141 class 1A schools. Quinn Enguita and Tiago Passos both won matches and finished top 12 in the state. Hudson Sweitzer picked up 4 wins and his second state medal with his 5th place finish and Senior Bennett Sweitzer goes out on top as the school’s first ever wrestling state champion. Bennett was also recognized during the finals ceremony for being awarded the Next Level Scholarship, presented by the FL Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame to 1 senior boy wrestler in the entire state.

It was an exciting and memorable weekend! Thank you to all the families, wrestlers, and the SWFL community that came out to support, especially for Bennett in the finals.

History has been made! Congratulations to Bennett Sweitzer for winning the FHSAA Class 1A State Title at 175 lbs. Bennett is the 1st wrestling state champion for Bishop Verot and finishes his career as a 3x state medalists.

Verot Wrestling wins the City of Palms Duals! The team went 6-0 and scored the final 18 points to defeat Riverview (Sarasota) 46-36 in the finals
