‼️⚠️There is an Enhanced Risk (3 out of 5) of Severe Storms Wednesday for much of Missouri. Expect two rounds of showers and thunderstorms, with the first round in the morning.
⚠️ The second round will be in the afternoon into overnight, with the highest chances in northeast Missouri.
⚠️Damaging straight-line wind (up to 70 MPH) is the most likely hazard, along with a lower threat of large hail (up to golf ball size) and a strong tornado (EF-2+) mainly in the early stages of the event. Localized flash flooding is also possible.
⚠️At least some strong or severe storms are expected, but
how far south the strongest storms reach remains uncertain.

As you go out to swim… a thought for the day. A lifeguard is there to prevent accidents from happening! They are not meant to be a babysitter! They are there to ensure safety in the water and the surrounding areas. Their focus is to watch their area and be engaged by actively scanning the area. Please be mindful and follow the rules and get in and have fun with your swimmer!

Lifeguards Are Not Babysitters!

Lifeguards are trained to respond in emergencies—but they should never be your child’s only line of defense at the pool.

Drowning can happen in seconds, and even the most attentive lifeguard can’t watch every child every second—especially in crowded or chaotic environments.

Parents and caregivers must stay within arm’s reach of young or inexperienced swimmers at all times. Active supervision saves lives.

Let’s work together to keep our kids safe.

Remember this: If it's play time in the water for them, it's work time for you. If you want to relax in or around the water, designate a day when you can go without them. If they are there, you are on the clock and watching at all times.
