They're just kids.

Standing around in the pits, talking about who knows what, probably arguing about something that won't matter by next weekend.

And somewhere in between the races, the wrecks, the wins, and the losses, they're growing up together.

These are the friendships that don't need much explaining.

The ones built on long nights, early mornings, dirty hands, shared tools, borrowed parts, and a mutual understanding that most kids their age will never quite have.

They'll race against each other. They'll celebrate each other's wins. They'll watch each other have the worst nights of their lives and show up the next weekend anyway.

And one day, they'll look back at these pictures and realize they weren't just spending their weekends at the racetrack.

They were growing up with some of their very best friends.

And that's the thing about this sport.

Sometimes the best things it gives you have absolutely nothing to do with racing.

As always, we had lots of fun handing out goodies and fruit snacks at the Fall Festival! It was so windy and cold we couldn’t decorate or wear our blow up costumes. Maybe next year.

Well redemption day isn’t going to happen. They canceled the race for today due to weather. Very disappointing I was really looking forward to complete redemption. We found out this morning before the races got canceled that my bolt that holds my right front L block was stripped and missing. So where I thought I was slipping last night and spinning out into the corner was actually my right tire was snapping down cause it’s was only being held on by the upper hyme joint. I want to thank all my sponsors. Without them this racing career that I love wouldn’t happen.

Well today/night did not go as planned. Actually didn’t even come close. We had issues getting into the track and running. Then we couldn’t pass tech. And it wasn’t for motor or tires or safety equipment. It was over not having safety wire on bolts that had nyloc nuts on them. They are nyloc for that specific reason so we don’t have to use safety wire all over the kart. Then our steering shaft is halo with threads on the inside. It goes into a hyme joint where a bolt threads in from the other side securing the steering shaft. The official wanted us to drill a hole in that bolt and safety wire it to the frame. When asked how we would turn he could not understand what we meant. Then told us we’re suppose to have a nut on there. So we tried to explain how our steering set up works and he told us we were wrong. It was almost like he had a grudge against us for some reason. Didn’t like our kart or something. We finally got a new guy after missing hot laps trying to pass tech. We pass and get ready for qualifying. Qualified 7 out of 11. Okay we got work to do. Kart was fast but made some errors in qualifying that hurt. Get ready for the A main because there were no heat races. First corner I found the only slick spot on the track and spin out. They don’t throw a caution. Once I get spun back around I’m about to get lapped. The first three karts lap me as I’m trying to get back up to speed and back into a rhythm. I find that one slick spot again and around I go. This time I recovered a lot sooner and then a caution comes out. I get stacked back up only a lap down to the top three. Get the green and I start getting into a rhythm and start passing karts. I get up to 6 and starting to battle with 5 when another caution comes out. While getting ready for the restart I get told to go to the rear of the field. No explanation on why. I’m only a lap down to the top three. So I go to the back. We restart and motors start blowing. 3 karts were claimed by blown motors. I kind of lost myself after being put to the rear for an unknown reason and never really recovered. So we finished 8th. Very disappointing day after stopping in and talking to our friends at Quarter-Max and having a nice ride down just for it to fight us the rest of the day. But there’s still one more day of racing and we will get some rest and get after it in the morning. Even though we had to fight all afternoon and night we still walked out running all 20 laps, we didn’t get last, and we pushed the kart into the trailer with nothing broke. Disappointing day of racing but not the worst. Here’s to a more productive day tomorrow.
