As we close the Fall 2021 season we wanted say thank you to all the players for their hard work over the semester and a thank you to all the fans that came out to support the boys. Right now the team is getting some much deserved time off and then will be back at it come next semester.

At the end of each season the team gets together to award a few players for their performances over the semester. Congratulations and well done to the gentlemen below.

Today the Bulls faced off against another conference opponent in the University of Minnesota. The Bulls had a rough start on the day but bounced back to play a hard second half against the fearsome gophers.

Some strong debuts and players testing out new positions led to plenty of adjustments throughout the roster. The boys are excited to make the trip to Lincoln next Saturday to play the University of Nebraska. Thank you to the University of Minnesota team and for all the great fans who came out to watch the game.

The Truman Bulls opened up their season last Saturday with the first rugby matches in the last year and a half! The Bulls traveled down to Columbia to face some familiar in-state rivals, the Mizzou Tigers and the Columbia Outlaws Men's Club.

With only a few weeks of practice under their belts, the boys played hard against their opponents. Dylan Hicks in his debut match went on to score a try in the very first possession of the day. This debut was marked along with many others as the Bulls had plenty of players play in their first collegiate match, some even their first time in any rugby match ever!

While unfortunately the Bulls lost to both opponents, the team left with their heads held high as they showed great potential for a team on the rise. The Bulls have a tough next matchup against the Iowa State Cyclones on the 25th of this month.

The Truman Bulls had their first Conference Match last Saturday against state rivals Mizzou. The Bulls took a hit before the game even started as they missed out on a couple subs who had to leave town early for Spring Break. Despite this the Bulls played a tight game with textbook tackling and defense. While the Bulls lost this match the team continue to grows in confidence and skill as the semester continues. While the team has a nice relaxing week for Spring Break, the boys will be right back to hard work on Tuesday as they prepare for an important weekend. Having a double-header of Iowa on March 21st followed by a make-up game against KU on the 22nd that should be sure to entertain!

The Bulls had their first test of the season with a friendly against the Columbia Outlaws last Saturday. While the Bulls kept up great defensive pressure, the experience of the Outlaws caused problems for this young Bulls roster, which had a couple of players who had never played a rugby game before. The Outlaws took the victory at the end of the day however the young bulls showed lots of promise for success this season. The next game is not until March 7th against conference and state rival Mizzou.
