Lake Washington CrossFit We are dedicated to improving the lives of our athletes and our community through fitness and the unique culture of CrossFit. Our specialty is not specializing.

CrossFit begins with a belief in fitness. The aim of CrossFit is to forge broad, general and inclusive fitness, preparing our athletes for any physical contingency. As we work to become fitter and healthier, we need to learn about movement, fitness, and nutrition. Education is a big part of CrossFit. When you start, you are not expected to have this knowledge as it is gained with time. When you co

me in for your scheduled free one-hour intro session we will start our by discussing any thoughts and concerns you have, and answer any questions that might be on your mind. We will teach you what CrossFit is, and then guide you through a warm up and workout. If you prefer, bring one or two friends to try it with you.

Hey LWCF Athletes & PNW Strong People ๐Ÿ’ช
On Saturday, Feb 21, weโ€™re hosting Static Monsters, an annual Strongman-style competition โ€” and this is our 6th year! ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ”ฅ
This is a fun, all-inclusive event (beginners encouraged!) featuring Log Clean & Press and 18โ€ Axle Deadlift. No special training required โ€” just come have fun and try strongman.
Free prep sessions every Saturday 3โ€“4 PM to learn the movements & equipment:

Welcome to Static Monsters 2026 the largest strongman event in the world with multiple gyms and countries competing on the same weekend! This event will be a max log lift and max wagon wheel axle deadlift. You will get 3 attempts at each lift. You will state an opening lift. If failed, the weight can go up or stay the same, it can not go down. After each lift, you will need to call your next weight.

max log lift approved gear:
wrist wraps
elbow sleeves
knee sleeves
under soft belt and hard leather belt
grip shirt

max deadlift approved gear:
suits
knee sleeves
figure 8 or normal wrist wraps
soft belt and hard belt
shoes do not need to be worn

The event will be $55, this gets you a shirt, food, and drinks. Trophies will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd top total with the combination of best log lift and deadlift all totals will be entered into the world wide database.

There will be bounties for certain weights for log and deadlift. For the womenโ€™s class the log is 275lb and 700lb deadlift, for the men the log will be 400lb and deadlift will be 900lb the total amount will be based on the amount of athletes registered I will update as we get closer to the event.

There will also be two bonus events for after athletes get done lifting if they want, it is completely optional, but there will be a prize for the winner of the bonus event. One of the bonus events will be total weight lifted over bar. you pick the stone weight and have 60 seconds to lift it over the bar as many times as possible. score will be weight times reps.

Huge congratulations to the one and only .jardine_strongwoman for finishing in 3rd place (in the world!) this weekend at the Rogue Invitational Strongwoman competition in Scotland! This was a demanding 2 days & 6 events competition that tested heavy lifting, moving events, muscular endurance and just about every aspect of strength you can think of. Congrats AJ! Does this mean we get to throw a gym party?

Saturday July 26th we will be hosting 8 Hero WODs followed by a Potluck/Party afterwards! You will be able to sign up for any workout you want in SugarWOD or ZenPlanner, and at the end of the day we will be hosting a Summer BBQ/Potluck at LWCF!

POTLUCK NOTES:
The Potluck will begin at 5:30PM to give me some setup time after the final WOD. You do NOT need to participate in any of the workouts in order to the attend the potluck, the more the merrier! Please let us know if you are coming to the Potluck and if you are bringing a +1 or more by either replying to this email or adding your name to the whiteboard list near the office. LWCF will provide the beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) as well as some BBQ basics of Burgers and Hot Dogs. Bring a side or dessert or anything youโ€™d like!

WORKOUT NOTES:
There will be a partner option for every workout as well as a solo option, and you will have the ability to choose which WOD (or WODs plural) that you want to do. You can even bring a friend to partner up with! Each workout will have a 45min mercy timecap to provide some transition time. We will provide some on-site snacks, especially for those of you who are are doing multiple workouts. We hope you either stay or return later to celebrate at our potluck/gathering that all community members are welcomed to attend.

With a Masters of Science Degree in Food & Nutrition Science and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dietetics, Braden is a wealth of knowledge on this subject. We hope you take advantage of learning from Braden on how to improve performance and body composition. We plan to have a robust Q&A at the end, so bring all your questions too!
