One of my favorite things about this community is that we make space for real life.
Stress, hectic schedules, kids, chaos, laughterโ€ฆ it all belongs here. ๐Ÿ’• Workouts are therapy. Holding two babies while doing them is even more therapeutic. Iโ€™m so incredibly blessed. Thank you to everyone who showed up today! You make me proud! โค๏ธ

After seeing so many heartbreaking conversations surrounding this topic over the last few days, I felt compelled to say something.

This video comes straight from my heart.

To every person with Down syndrome who might hear stories that make you question your worth: You matter. You are loved. You are valuable. You belong. Your life has immeasurable meaning, and this world is better because youโ€™re in it. Never let anyone make you believe otherwise.

And to the parents who have just received a diagnosis or are walking through those first uncertain days: Hereโ€™s the truth: Parenthood doesnโ€™t come with a manual. Every single one of us is just figuring it out as we go, loving our kids fiercely, making mistakes, learning from them, and putting one foot in front of the other. Itโ€™s the hardest jobs on the planet. Likeโ€ฆ really freaking hard. But I can honestly say itโ€™s the most fulfilling and rewarding things Iโ€™ve ever done. And these incredible kiddos have a way of changing us for the better, teaching us every single day about unconditional love, joy, patience, acceptance, resilience, and how to be more kind, compassionate, and accepting humans.

I donโ€™t pretend to have all the answers, but I do know thisโ€”every life deserves to be seen, celebrated, and cherished.

I know, without a doubt, that I am a better person because of Xavier. And I donโ€™t think Iโ€™m alone in that. Almost everyone who has the privilege of knowing him walks away a little kinder, a little more patient, a little more accepting, and a little more joyfulโ€”all because he shows up as his authentic, unapologetic self every single day. โค๏ธ

This one is for you. ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿผ

As a small, locally owned fitness studio, weโ€™re competing against big box gyms and national chains with multiple locations and thousands of members. The only way we have a chance is if our communityโ€”and the people who believe in supporting small businessesโ€”show up in a big way. โค๏ธ

Recently, a YouTuber with millions of followers publicly shared that they terminated a pregnancy after learning their unborn child had Down syndrome. In explaining that decision, he said that Down syndrome โ€œisnโ€™t a blessingโ€ and described it as โ€œobjectively sh*tty.โ€

As the parents of a little boy with Down syndrome, those words hit hard. More than anything, they made us sad. Sad that someone could look at an extra chromosome and never get the chance to see the joy, the laughter, the love, and the perspective it has brought into our lives every single day.

So instead of responding with anger, weโ€™d rather respond with the truth we live every single day.

They can call it a glitch if they want.

Around here, we call it blessed chaos.

Because the little boy with an extra chromosome has taught us more about unconditional love, inclusion, genuine kindness, resilience, determination, and pure joy than we ever could have imagined.

He reminds us to slow down. To celebrate the little things. To cheer louder. To hug longer. To see people for who they are instead of what they can or canโ€™t do.

He makes us laugh every single day. He makes complete strangers smile. He has a way of bringing people together and reminding all of us to be a little more patient, a little more compassionate, and a whole lot more human.

And if thereโ€™s one thing we know for sure, itโ€™s this: we are endlessly grateful that Xavier chose us. Getting to be his family is one of the greatest privileges and blessings of our lives.

Is life always easy? Of course not. Whose is?

But if you ask us what Xavier has brought into our lives, the answer will never be โ€œobjectively sh*tty.โ€ It will always be love, perspective, growth, purpose, and more joy than we ever thought possible.

So noโ€ฆ we donโ€™t see a glitch.

We see one of the greatest blessings of our lives.

And weโ€™ll gladly embrace the blessed chaos every single day. โค๏ธ
