Crossfire Select Soccer Club

Crossfire Select Soccer Club Each year our club forms two (or three) boys and girls teams for each age group between U11 and U18. Teams are formed each spring, through tryouts.

Crossfire Select Soccer Club is a club that serves the Multi-Sport athlete who is looking to play at a more competitive level than recreational soccer, but does not wish to play soccer year round. Once teams are formed, they begin training in early June. Most teams will participate in two to three tournaments throughout the summer season. During the summer, teams are evaluated by coaches and coach

ing directors and placed in competitive divisions that are appropriate for each individual team. A team that is well placed will win as many matches as they lose, and draw any number of matches. In this way players are receiving a proper challenge to help them develop their skills.

About Tryouts
Crossfire Select is a competitive program. Crossfire Select uses a player selection process called a tryout to find the right set of players to form teams that can compete at the highest possible levels.

This does not always mean selection of the best players. Skill on the field is obviously an important factor, but attitude, vision, work-ethic, and other less quantitative factors are also considered.

Teams require different players to perform different roles. There are strikers, midfielders, defenders and goalkeepers. Within each group you may want one strong/physical player, one very fast player, one player with extreme foot skills, and another player who has strong vision and can read the game as it unfolds. You may want different players to take on the roles of acquisition, distribution, and transportation of the ball.

The purpose of the tryout, and the job of the tryout evaluators, is to incorporate all of these factors and find the right combination of skills, attitudes and roles to build a competitive team.

For more information on the Crossfire Select Program such as competition, and cost, please see the About Crossfire Select page.

How cool is this!

At 4-1 down in his last game this player is replaced by his 5-year-old son.
