Most martial arts train one way. Over time, the body pays for it. Hard styles wear down the joints. Soft styles alone never develop true power. The Oom Yung Doe system has carried the solution to this problem for many years: eight martial arts harmonized as one, so the body is strengthened without being broken down.
Kong Su develops linear power, sharp strikes, and mental discipline. Kung Fu builds circular, flowing movement rooted in nature; the body learns to generate power from any direction. Aikido trains joints, pressure points, and controlled redirection for close-proximity self-defense. Tai Chi develops internal energy and regulates the nervous system through slow, deliberate movement. Bagwa Chung builds internal strength and multi-directional awareness through circular walking patterns. Kom Do (Samurai Sword), the way of the sword, refines mental focus and precision by extending the mind through a weapon. Udo teaches ground movement, throws and the redirection of an opponent's momentum. Ship Pal G*e is the mastery of eighteen traditional weapons and forms; the highest level of coordination in the system.
Practiced separately, each style would strengthen certain areas while neglecting others. Harmonized as one, within the correct lineage, they balance the body completely. Hard and soft, internal and external, upper and lower, linear and circular; nothing is overdeveloped and nothing is left behind. This is why students in their fifties and sixties move with greater ease than they did decades earlier, and why the practice builds the body up over a lifetime rather than wearing it down.
