Maybe because spring is in the air, or because summer is right around the corner. Either way, I've been helping clients organize their garages a lot lately. Some just need a good clean. Some need it to be more functional. Others want to be able to finally park their car in the garage. Garages can quickly and easily become the most disorganized area of the home if you aren't careful.
This month I thought I would give a few ways you can stay on top of the garage clutter!

Pull out every single thing you have in your garage. I mean everything. Divide it into 3 piles:
1. Stuff to keep
2. Stuff to toss (donate, trash)
3. Stuff that belongs somewhere else.

There are no other piles. Just these three. Every item needs to go into one of them.

It's a full time job keeping the kids' schedule updated and organized. The more kids you've got, the crazier the schedule can be.
Having a system to keep your many schedules organized helps you maximize your time. And it keeps you from missing or forgetting something. Here are a few ideas for you to try:
-Have a family calendar and update it often
-Communicate with your partner who needs to pick up/drop off kids and at what time
-Send out a family email each Sunday detailing the week's schedule
-Add a command center to your kitchen area where you can write things down or create a family to-do list
-Get in the habit of getting ready the night before, including all sports gear, snacks, and other necessary items.

Staying on top of your family's schedule will end up saving you time in the long run.

You know I love making the most of my ten-minute time chunks. If you've got a quick ten minutes, here are some ways you can be a little productive and make the most of those 600 seconds:
-Sleep an extra 10 minutes
-Read a blog that interests you
-Put on make-up
-Change your sheets
-Layout your clothes for the next day

Ten minutes can go a long way when you add them all up!! ⌚️⏱⏳

If you've got tall and deep cupboards, first of all, I'm super jealous. Second of all, you need to start using risers (if you aren't already). It makes storing things so much easier and it's far more space efficient. Of course, you can go fancy and buy expensive ones. But I've found metal risers at the dollar store. Such an awesome find!
If you need to make better use of your cupboard space, start with risers!

Moving is no joke. Seriously, even as an organizer, moving is intense. I can't ever decide which side is more work-the packing up or the unpacking. Regardless of if it's a move across country or town, moving is a lot of work.
There are ways to make it slightly easier. Here are some tips to make your next move a little smoother:
1. Before packing anything, do the ultimate cleanout.
2. Label your boxes so you know exactly what's in them and where they go.
3. Make an "open this box first" box. This box will have all the essentials when you move in (coffee maker, paper plates/cups, toilet paper, linens, etc.)
4. Pack up boxes according to where they will end up in your new home.
5. If you're traveling for your move, pack a separate bag for an overnight stay.

👉If you're feeling overwhelmed by an upcoming move, or if you've recently moved and still have those boxes sitting there, DM me. I would love to help you get going!
