It’s a big one today as South Kirbyville comes to town to start district play. Get out and support these ladies who have been working hard from day 1!!
With the start of district play beginning today, we reached out to Coach Savannah Andrews to hear her thoughts on the season so far and what she is expecting going forward.
This is what Coach Andrews had to say:
“We are really excited to get district started! The girls have been working so hard throughout the preseason, and I’m really proud of the growth they’ve shown. We know district is going to be a battle, but our goal is to take it one game at a time, compete for every point, and trust the work we’ve put in.
As a team, I’m most proud of the way these girls have continued to show up each day and push through all the challenges I’ve given them. Volleyball is not an easy season to get through. We start August 1st, and from then on, it is full steam ahead. There are long practices, early mornings, conditioning, countless reps, and a lot of physical and mental demands that come with this sport.
Through all of that, these girls have continued to show up, work hard, and push each other. They have been challenged in a lot of ways this season, and I’ve really enjoyed watching them grow not only as volleyball players, but as a team. I’m proud of the commitment they’ve shown, and I’m excited to see what they can accomplish as we head into district!”
The dedication and hard work it takes to play this game does not go unnoticed. Keep up the great work ladies!!
We encourage everyone to show up today in your red and black to help push the Ladycats through these next 7 weeks of the season. Taking on our neighbors from down south is a terrific game for everyone to show their Ladycats pride. The JV game starts off at 4:30 this afternoon and Varsity will follow after.
