The shotgunner must lead the target by an amount determined by the speed of the target at the breakpoint, the angle of the target to the shooter and the breakpoint, and the distance to the target at the breakpoint.”

Shotgun shells slow down fast. This is where rifle and pistol shooters have issues. Because a rifle or pistol bullet has more mass and as such doesn’t slow down nearly as much. So they will shoot at a target that’s crossing and expect it to break.

Too many shooters fixate on a miss, which only leads to more misses. Instead, treat every missed target as a learning opportunity. Decide what you’ll do differently on the next shot—then let the miss go. After the competition go back and work on improving your weaknesses.
