Kinsley High School season recap:
Record: 6-2, Finished 2nd in District
Coming off the 2024 season, we had 4 starting spots on both sides of the ball to replace, so we knew that we had a difficult task ahead of us. However, we had key leadership players return in every position group. What we may not have expected is for us to take such a noticeable step forward! We began the season with 3 straight victories via the mercy rule, showing us just how well we can play this game when we are dialed in. Although the season didn’t end the way we wanted, Ive never been more proud to be a part of a football team than I am with this one.
The season was filled with highlights that I know I will remember for a very long time, from an opening week win over a rival school, to a mercy rule win over a team who took us to 3OT last season, to a thrilling one-handed TD catch on 4th and goal with 30 seconds left to secure a home playoff game. These guys gave me one of the most enjoyable football seasons of my coaching career, and I’m blessed to have been a part of it.
To our 4 seniors, Thank You! You’ve had a tremendous impact on us as coaches, your teammates, the community and the Kinsley Football program as a whole. Kinsley HS Football is in a better place because of you, and for that we are incredibly grateful!
As always, I cannot express enough gratitude to Coach Bright for his vision and leadership. Coach joined our team last fall, and his impact was immediate. We’re lucky to have him roaming the sidelines! Also, I owe a thanks to the men who help us in the booth on gamedays. Having intelligent football minds on our ears on gameday is an asset I will never take for granted.
It’s a great day to be a part of Kinsley Coyote Football!
