KINGWOOD, WV Strength athletes from across the region will gather in Preston County on Saturday, April 4th at 10:00 AM for the West Virginia Strongman Corporation State Championship, taking place at the Craig Civic Center in Kingwood, West Virginia.
The competition will feature 73 athletes from 9 different states, making it one of the largest strongman competitions ever hosted in WV.
Athletes will compete in a series of classic strongman events designed to test maximum strength, power, and endurance. Spectators can expect to see competitors lift massive weights and perform incredible feats of strength in events including the Silver Dollar Deadlift, Log Press, Yoke Carry, Sandbag Load, and the West Virginia State Front Hold.
“This event brings together some of the strongest athletes in the region while also showcasing Preston County as a great place for strength sports and community events,” said organizers from Lift Hard Strength Club, a Kingwood based strongman and powerlifting gym.
The event is open to the public, and spectators are encouraged to attend and experience the excitement of live strongman competition. Admission for spectators is $10 at the door.

🏋️‍♂️ Small Business Saturday – Open House at Lift Hard Strength Club 🏋️‍♀️

This Saturday we’re opening the doors from 12pm–3pm for anyone who wants to check out the gym, see the equipment, hang out with the crew, or ask questions about strength training, strongman, powerlifting, or getting started in general.

It’s also a perfect time to get your high school athlete into a real strength building program. Proper technique, proper progression, and coaching that actually sets them up for long term success.

If you’ve been curious about building a base of strength, learning proper technique, or eventually moving into strongman, powerlifting training, this is the perfect time to stop in. No pressure, no sales pitch just a chance to see the space and meet good people who train hard.

Swing through, support a local small business, and see why Lift Hard Strength Club is becoming the spot for serious strength in Preston County.

Made a 5 hour round trip with the Lift Hard crew today to pick up a Westside belt squat. Long drive, but absolutely worth it.

Everything we bring into the gym is for our lifters, and this one’s going to help a lot of people get stronger without beating up their backs and knees.
