As you guys can see, my body fluctuates. I'm not saying that I'll ever go back to where I was on the right, but the decisions I have made in my career have lead mentors get changes like these at will. What got ball rolling? Me making a decision about 9 years ago to barely train at all.
Since I started as a trainer 15 years ago, I've for the most part known I was spiraled in one direction. Although I didn't feel pain, every time I put my body through a demanding situation (sparring, grappling, basketball, climbing stuff, etc.), I always noticed residual points if stiffness on my structure. It indicated to me that I wasn't getting out of one spiral and that I needed to establish another. The more precise I got about calculating biomechanics, the more I realized that I needed to sit around and think about what I'm doing way more.
I spend quite literally most of my day calculating phenomena. Doesn't matter what it is, my brain is calculating. The more precise my calculations are, and the better I execute on that precision, the faster I can turn around my mechanics and change my physique. I forsee the fluctuations of degeneration being less and less moving forward because I can account for variable much better now than ever. Obviously I spend most my days doing this 🤦🏽♂️ with the things I don't see, but without those rough patches, you don't get to progress.
Point is that you don't beat yourself up if you need time to collect yourself. It's ok to do nothing in training, and allow your body to go places you know it shouldn't go, so long as you're still trying to map out the problems.
I still have way more things undeveloped in my body than I have developed. That said, things are always progressing. If you are or have been skeptical of my progress, I'm right there with you. I feel it's safe to say that I'm my own harshest critic but also my biggest fan lol.
Anyway, keep getting after it. Life has bumps in the road. Experience will be your suspension kit.
