I am still an active instructor of Isshinryu Karate, and still acting under the name of Keko's Academy of Martial Arts (FDS). I do not have a "dojo" in terms of an actual building.
Although one location has become a place of Zen for me.
I am in competition with no one, and always willing to work with anyone who has a thirst to become better.
I keep a strict curriculum of Isshinryu with high expectations.
What I do NOT do is set forth to steal any student from any instructor. I will work privately with anyone from another dojo, but only with the intent to help you hone skills with respect in regard to the teachings of ones own sensei.
I am also available for clinics for traditional Isshinryu Karate as well as for self defense.
I do take on full time private students but I only have room in my schedule for 7 more.

As only a few may be aware, in March I decided to step down as Chief Instructor of my dojo.
The past year has been difficult between the balance of my personal and professional life. Due to the health of my mom and other private matters, I could no longer maintain the pace I was trying to move at.
Therefore, the dojo has now become Scarborough's Academy of Isshinryu, under the leadership of my former Assistant Instructor and longtime best friend, Randy Scarborough.
However.....I did not quit.
I still serve Mr. Scarborough and his dojo in an Advisory capacity, I do not interfer in its day to day management or teaching. I trust that he will carry on my traditions, as well as my teachers, while carrying on his own best practices.
I teach privately, right now,with a very dedicated student who works hard to become their best.
I am open to 8 other adults who will be will be willing to be my direct students, as I curre toy have no interest in opening a full time dojo.
I am also now available to travel and conduct seminars.
Karate has been a very important t part of my life since I was 10 years old. It has made me the person today, who knows what he wants. It has give. Me a sense of purpose by being able to pass my skill to future generations, and it has brought me a personal sense of tranquility I could never find anywhere else.

Great News!! We will be returning to class Monday, May 4th!! There will be a few differences though. To keep in line with the state's social distancing guidelines and the 50% capacity, we ask that anyone not participating in the class wait outside in your vehicles. There will be someone stationed inside the door asking if anyone has a fever. If you are sick or have a fever, please stay at home until you are better. Kid tigers will begin at 6:00 p.m. and will let out at 6:25 p.m. Between 6:25 p.m. and 6:35 p.m. we will be allowing Kid Tigers to leave and then signaling the Children's Class to enter maintaining the state suggested 6 ft rule. We will utilize the same format for the Adult Class by dismissing the Children's Class at 7:25 p.m. and beginning the Adult Class at 7:35 p.m. There will be areas in the dojo designated with an "X". You may put your gear and equipment in these spaces.We ask that you arrive on-time and be fully dressed out. We are committed to providing quality instruction and keeping you and your family safe during this time.
