There is a ton of confusion and questions about whats going on in the NFA world and in my own words ill do the best I can to explain how it will effect us in the state of Michigan.

Recently a group sued the ATF and won stating that $0 tax items should not be registered on the NFA and no form 4 should be required. This actually happened and there is no (as of now) appeal or attempt to push back from the government so they are letting this happen. This is probably one of the single greatest wins for the 2nd amendment we've seen in our lifetime.

However.... as for michigan. By state law NFA items are only legal with federal approval (form 4) so our option as a state is keep doing form 4s like we were or silencers and sbrs/sbs would become illegal and not be able to obtain anymore until Michigan changed its laws which under democratic power would definitely not happen.

So the map below show the free states where no form 4 is required and the states like Michigan where you will still need to do a form 4. Its a great win overall even tho it doesn't include our state yet... A silver lining to this is the fact that with all these "free states" now out of the form 4 process. The already pretty quick approval times will be and should be even faster than before and may even move to something as fast as same day approvals like you'd see doing a standard background check.

All around this a win for the gun community and a huge step in the right direction!!
