We were thinking about hosting some rc mud boggs today!

10/13/2023

Unfortunately due to soggy grounds and more rain forecast for the next 2 days we are cancelling this weekend's event.

As of right now the infield is full of water and the access road is too soggy to drive on. With temps starting to drop, and days getting shorter, there are unfortunately no suitable makeup dates. We are done for the season... Without ever getting started.

Our friends down the road at KRC (Kirkland RC Club) are hoping to get started here really soon, make sure to keep an eye on their page for more info to hopefully be released soon

Hey everyone, Saturday is race day! We are currently watching the weather and have done everything we can to prep the track. Unfortunately it is predicted that mother nature will not be cooperating this Week / Weekend.

We are NOT cancelling as of right now, however if we receive 2" of rain between Thursday and Friday that will be enough to rain us out. As of right now Saturday is still a go however we will update everyone as the time gets closer.

If somehow we manage to get rained out but Saturday is clear skys, our friends over at Cheese City Xtreme RC Raceway and Discount America Hobbies is oval racing in Monroe Wi, about 20min north of Freeport IL. If we can't race but they can go support them!

Update:

Currently we do plan on having our event Saturday October 14th. We will have a flyer out later this week...

Now we need to discuss practice. We would like to host a Practice Sunday October 8th. If you are going to show up please comment or PM us. If there is low interest then we will not bother to waste our time outside. Our last practice had an extremely low turnout and honestly wasn't worth it. If we practice we were thinking from 10am-3pm.

Now we have to acknowledge our racing surface. So the problem with our surface is that it is a new track and has few laps on it. In order to have an optimal racing surface we would like to have a day of cars running on it... hence our October 8th proposal. We are going to do everything in our power to prep the racing surface, however nothing compares to laps being turned. If we practice Sun the 8th we feel we can have a better race on Sat the 14th. At the moment the surface is really rocky and rough. We are still no matter what going to do everything in our power to get the show in October 14th, and we will drag the track and pick as many rocks as possible before any cars touch the track, however without cars on track it's a complete guessing game. If we do something on the 8th we will also have a small fun race or two towards the end to test the timing and scoring equipment.

Saturday October 14th we have new Race times. Gates open at 11am, Practice at Noon to 2:30, and racing at 3pm. We have decided that this will probably be both the first and last race on this track Layout. It is a bit small and the banking requires a lot of maintenance. Turnout for this event will determine how much we feel we need to invest into next year's layout or if it's even worth racing at all. We will be running KRC ( kirkland RC club ) 2023-24 classes, with the 22-23' tire rule

Once again unfortunately we do not have the space for pit trailers. We have room for parking across the street and could get trailers in over there, however it is far from the track and a little impractical to pit over there. We have plenty of room for tents by the racetrack and we do have an access lane to drop off equipment before parking across the street.

We hope to see you all in a few weeks, please let us know if you WILL be attending the practice if we have it.

Due to unforseen circumstances we are unfortunately going to have to Cancel our event this weekend. The forecast calls for enough rain that we feel we can't get the racing surface, and the pits ready to race.

We will look into an alternative date and reschedule for sometime in the future. More info will be released when we figure it out.

However the weather is looking good for Tuesday! Go out to Kirkland and help support the kirkland RC club walking through the Kirkland 4th of July Celebration Parade
