💟 Our perspectives may vary, and isn't it wonderful?
Being an adoptee has given me a distinct lens through which I view life, shaped by my earliest moments.
Relinquished at birth and immediately separated from my birth mother, my life began in a fight-or-flight mode. I was put in an incubator and stayed in the hospital (I think) for about a week until my adoptive parents brought me home.
This journey, though marked by trauma, has been a path of growth and self-understanding.
Reunion with my biological families has been a blessing, and writing has been my way to process and share my emotions.

I've recently restarted my writing and joined back up with my writing coach, Anne Heffron .
I'm excited for what's to come.
So, for now, let's shift the narrative; it's time the world understands the real story of adoption.
It's not just about being grateful for a second chance; it's about acknowledging every part of my journey and the millions of others - yes, millions - of closed adoptions during the Baby Scoop Era (1960s-1974).
