As we are establishing the 2027 swim schedule, I want to take a few minutes to share something important about the future of NorthWest OK Survival Swim.
After a great deal of thought and prayer, I have realized that within the next two to three years, I will likely begin stepping back from spending as much time teaching in the pool as I do currently ( I am getting older 🤷🏽♀️, although my students keep me believing I am young 🫶🏼 ). This does not mean that I am leaving NorthWest OK Survival Swim or that our program is closing. Instead, I hope to move into more of a training, mentoring, and leadership role.
Teaching children lifesaving swim skills and building relationships with so many wonderful families has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. Because this program means so much to me, I want to make sure its mission continues serving families well into the future.
I am looking for a few more dedicated individuals who have a genuine love for children, a strong work ethic, patience, compassion, and a passion for water safety. I would like to begin training and mentoring the right people alongside me so they can gain the experience, confidence, and qualifications needed to eventually take on more of the daily teaching responsibilities. This applies to all our current locations we serve- Enid, Kingfisher, Alva & Fairview.
This is about much more than simply learning how to teach swim lessons. It is an opportunity to learn how to operate a survival swim business, serve families, and teach skills that can truly save lives. Quality training takes time, which is why I am beginning this process now.
If you feel that God may be placing this kind of work on your heart—or if you know someone who might be a good fit—I would love to have a conversation with you.
My hope is to build a strong team that will allow me to gradually spend less time in the pool while continuing to train instructors, support the program, and help ensure that NorthWest OK Survival Swim continues its lifesaving mission for many years to come.
God blessed me when I changed my full time career to full time teaching swim- I just could not have imagined the joy, friendships, support, trust or the personal growth I would experience stepping into this path he led me down!
Thank you so very much to every family who has trusted me with your children and supported this program. You have made this journey more meaningful than I could ever fully express.
