Special News-ANNOUNCEMENT
After 26 incredible years of owning and operating Fitness 2000, we—Larry and Michelle Daniels—have made the heartfelt decision to step away from the business to pursue new chapters in our lives.
As we reflect on all that has passed, we remember the struggles, the accomplishments, the highs and the lows. We think about the incredible growth we’ve experienced—not just in the business, but within ourselves. So much hard work has led to this moment of bittersweet joy: the closing of one very large book, as we begin to chase all the other stories that have been on hold, waiting for their time.
We are deeply thankful to God for all He has allowed us to do, to have, and to give. We’re grateful for the many wonderful people we’ve had the opportunity to care about—and who have cared for us in return. Even those who made life more difficult had their place in our story, and we’re thankful for them too. This journey has been one of dedication, community, and countless unforgettable memories.
Larry poured his heart and soul into Fitness 2000. He truly gave it everything he had. We’ve weathered many storms over the years, but together we always worked through them—growing stronger in both business and life.
Fitness 2000 began in a small building with a big dream. There was a lot of sweat, sacrifice, and perseverance involved in getting to where we are today. We quickly outgrew that small space, moved into a bigger one, and eventually, through God’s provision, we built our own facility. Then came King. It’s hard to believe we’ve been here for 21 years!
King is a special place—filled with wonderful, God-fearing people. We are truly grateful to all who have supported and loved us along the way. The gym has become a great success, and now we are blessed to be turning it over at the height of its journey.
We’re excited to announce that Jeff Ratliff will be taking over ownership and management of the gym in early September, following a brief transition period.
Jeff’s connection to Fitness 2000 goes back nearly two decades. He first joined as a member in 2006 at our Clemmons location, and when he and his wife, Ivelisse, moved to King in 2015, they continued their membership here. Many of you already know Jeff, and if you do, you know he brings a deep passion for fitness and a genuine love for this community.
Taking over Fitness 2000 fulfills a longtime dream for Jeff, and we couldn’t imagine a better person to carry our legacy forward. Under his leadership, the gym will not only continue to thrive—it will grow.
This transition will come with exciting changes, including a new name, an expanded facility, and the addition of new equipment. These updates reflect Jeff’s commitment to investing in your fitness journey and building a space that inspires, supports, and strengthens everyone who walks through the doors.
To all our members and our very special employees—past and present—we want to say thank you. Your loyalty, kindness, and friendship have meant the world to us. You’ve been the heart of this gym, and we will be forever grateful for your support through the years.
Though we are stepping away from our daily roles, our hearts will always remain with this place and with the people who made it so special. We are proud to pass the torch to Jeff and can’t wait to see how he takes this gym to new heights.
With all our love and gratitude,
Larry & Michelle Daniels
