We headed to Friendship Motor Speedway this weekend with some optimism, we got some new bilstein shocks from RE Suspension, Inc. and hoped to find some speed. But a bonehead move in qualifying had the rf brake locked up and we where pitiful, choose to not take the car down to the track so we could get the rf cooled down and checked to make sure it was allright. Heat race went well just couldnt make up any ground but we ran 3 tenths faster then we ever had before. In the feature we managed to get a spot on the start, and looked like we might be able to make a move for 4th before some slip ups cost us some ground and we settled in and finished 5th. We finally found some speed this weekend with all but 3 laps in the feature being faster then our previous best. A little more time for the driver to figure out the new shock package, and some setup work and we believe we will be running with the front runners.

Feature 1, 5th

Due to the invert we started outside pole. Was able to drive around the leader in turn 2 and paced the field for 4 laps before a pretty nice slider got me. We had a caution immediately after that, and due to a lack of experience starting first row got played pretty good' taken 3 wide and fell back to 5th by the end of turn 2, then got back into a groove and managed to finish there.

Feature 2 5th

Started 5th in feature 2 after then points where added up, and managed to stay there, and with the track slowing down pretty good, actually managed to stay within a few seconds of the leader and with the top 4 group.

Overall we still need some speed but ran around half a second off the leaders most of the night which is better then we have been.

Race Recap 5/16

Qualified 4/8 in our group, 10/22 overall

Heat race started on pole after invert finished 4th

Feature started 14/22 finished 12/22

Qualified decent after messing up our second lap, feel like we found a little speed but where missing something, unfortunately what we seemed to be missing showed up in the heat race, we where lifting the lr off the ground and hopping pretty good on entry, we made some changes when we put the car back together and I believe we where to soft on the rr. Made some changes to try and help it for the feature and did seem to be a little better, but got caught up in one wreck, and looped it once by myself. It will be back to the drawing board, and go over the lr suspension to make sure there isnt something being missed and hopefully we can knock a few more tenths off.

It was a rough night car felt good in qualifying, but a slight mistake prolly cost some tenths, ran 3 laps side by side with a good car and then a few mistakes slid us back in the heat. In the feature it was wrong place wrong time, as a competitor got out of sorts and came across our rf bending the upper, and getting me sideways, I tried to get it correct and miss the backstraight inside wall but didnt clear enough, lf upper and lower are bent, lr shearplates are destroyed and one of the shear plates tabs cracked pretty good, its all fixable, but may take longer then anticipated. We will get it together and be back either the 16th or the 30th if we cant get it all right in time for the 16th. These things happen in racing.

After getting a little to high in qualifying we went 5 out of 7 in our group, invert put us on the pole for heat 1, ran side by side for 3 laps and then lost the spot, and fell back to 3rd on the final spot, this puts us starting 11th in the feature.
