These sponsors will help cover uniform costs, travel expenses, admission costs, keeping the mats clean, wrestling equipment and more.

It’s not cheap or easy to start a new program and its help like this that gets us going.

We are looking for at least 5 more sponsors this year if possible and we are setting up our “push-up challenge” fundraiser also.

The KHS/KMS Yellowjacket Wrestling team is in need of about 12 of these style 1 gallon jars in glass or plastic. If you have one you can donate contact Coach K at [email protected] or drop at KHS or KMS front office for Coach K and the wrestling program.

After having the clinic yesterday and getting calls and emails most the day today we have the start of a schedule for the KHS varsity season 26/27.

There will be some changes and looking at additions.

We are also looking at the possibility to host a duel here in Kinder this year, maybe.

Just some reminders from Coach K from practice yesterday.

1- any KHS or KMS wrestler will need an LHSAA physical on file with the school and with the wrestling team. Go get them now.

2- if you are interested in wrestling now is a good time to get your wrestling shoes.

3- at practice and in tournaments zero jewelry is allowed. No ear rings, no necklaces, no bracelets, no finger rings at all. Take it off before you hit the mat.

Today was a good day for Yellowjacket Wrestling.

40 kids from KHS and KMS came out and learned about the sport of wrestling. We worked out, stretched a little, learned about neutral, top/bottom, collar ties, snap downs, and more.

Did a little wrestling drills and games also.

4 hours is a long time for many kids and they all seemed to have learned something and had fun also.
