The Mortimer Jordan Varsity Boys Bowling Team has been on an impressive run this season, currently sitting at 7-2 overall and 7-1 in the region.
Before Thanksgiving, the boys competed in the Rocket City Classic in Huntsville, hosted by Sparkman. Going into bracket play as the 5th seed out of 14 teams, the team faced some tough competition. While they fell in the first round of bracket play, they showed resilience and made an impressive run to the finals of the consolation bracket.
Yesterday, the team participated in Hewitt-Trussville’s Husky Howliday Tournament. Entering bracket play as the 9th seed of 17teams, the boys put on a show, defeating some of the best teams in the state, including Sparkman, Thompson, and Vestavia Hills, to advance to the championship match. They fought hard throughout the day but came up just short against the defending state champions, finishing in a strong second place.
Congratulations to senior Cooper Myl for making the All-Tournament teams for both tournaments.
The team’s grit, teamwork, and focus have been outstanding, and they’re showing they have what it takes to compete at the highest level. The season is shaping up to be one to remember—keep an eye on these young men as they continue to make their mark! 💪🎳

This win not only showcased the team's talent but also set a new team high score. Special shoutout to Tristan Peacock (287) and Jaxson Greer (266) for achieving new personal bests—way to go, guys!

The varsity girls fought hard and played a tight match with Gardendale falling just short of victory but the future looks good.

Looking ahead, the teams will face tough competition next week with region matches against Mountain Brook, Woodlawn, and Gardendale, plus an out-of-region matchup with Hewitt. Let’s keep the momentum going! Go, Blue Devils! 💙💪

Today was the Rebel Roll hosted by Vestavia Hills at Vestavia Bowl and Mortimer Jordan let some major programs know that they are the real deal. After seeding placed MJ in 10th for bracket matches the Blue Devils knocked off #7 seed Southside Gadsden and #2 seed Hoover before falling to eventual champion #3 seed Vestavia Hills in a decisive game 3 in a best of three series. These kids don’t know what it means to give up and they never stopped fighting. Now on to Regionals next week with hopes of clinching a birth to the state tournament for the first time in school history.
