Man, 18 months ago, we took a massive leap of faith and opened up M and H Outdoors right here in Kimberling City. Sitting here this Labor Day, looking back at everything it took to get to this point... it's a mix of pure pride and a whole lot of humility.
Honestly? Starting a family business is no walk in the park. It tests your finances, your patience, and your sanity. But if we're being completely transparent, one of the heaviest parts of the journey was realizing that not everyone is going to cheer for you. We had to face the quiet disappointment of not having the backing of certain family and friends that we really thought we could count on. That part stung.
But looking back now? That empty space got filled up by something way better: our local community.
You guys literally became our extended family. To every single person in the Kimberling City area who bought from us, sent a neighbor our way, or just stopped in to shoot the breeze—you are the exact reason we’re hitting this 1.5-year milestone. And to our day-ones who were there from the jump: we see you. We appreciate you more than you know, and we'll never forget that you believed in us when we were just getting started.
Labor Day is all about the grind and celebrating hard work. We are just incredibly grateful that our grind gets to be serving this awesome community.
