Just a little hello from all of us at Horseshoe K Ranch!

We’re still here… watching the seasons change, taking care of the land, and already looking forward to the next time the fields are full of laughter, stories, and the sound of wings.

Whether you’ve been coming for years or it’s been a while — we think about all the memories made here and can’t wait to make more.

A dear friend gone far too soon. She was one of my very first friends, thanks to our parents being such good friends. So many cherished memories through the years. In later years, we were blessed to have her work with us at Horseshoe K Ranch—her baking skills were always a hit. She always loved the music and having a good time, and I’ll forever miss hearing her giggle.

Reina Ford, age 53, of Wessington Springs, SD, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at her home in Wessington Springs. Her Memorial Service will be held at 100 p.m., on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Wessington Springs with burial to follow at Prospec...

To all of our hunters who visited Horseshoe K Ranch this year — thank you! We’re truly grateful for those of you who return year after year, and we loved meeting so many new faces this season. It means a lot to us to share our lodge and land with such great people, and we’re already looking forward to seeing you all again. Talk about true hunters—when this group shows up, nothing is safe. They are here to HUNT, and we love every minute of it. The friendships we’ve built with these guys and Kathy over the years—and let’s emphasize the years they’ve been coming—mean more to us than we can say. So many memories, so much laughter, and a whole lot of time spent in the field together. We truly cherish every moment with this crew.

We had a great time welcoming Cody and his crew back to South Dakota for some snowy pheasant hunting. The weather showed off a bit—giving the Texas guys a true snowy, cold-weather experience, while the Utah crew was about ready to head back to warmer days. What a great group of guys!

And sorry, Chase… not sure why Brian decided to take pictures of your brother’s group instead of yours. That one might need to be taken up with Brian 😉

We always enjoy welcoming Craig and his crew back to Horseshoe K Ranch! A few days filled with pheasant hunting, relaxing, exploring, and plenty of great conversations with other guests. The best part is seeing everyone excited to see each other and catch up year after year.

Scooter and his crew made it back to Horseshoe K Ranch again this year, chasing pheasants through a beautiful snowfall on a few cold December days. Great hunting, great company, and always fun catching up with this group!

Had a great time watching Buxton work the fields with this awesome group of guys from Minnesota and Georgia.

We shared plenty of laughs along the way—even with the extra walking and a dose of classic cold South Dakota weather.

A big thank-you to Ray for lining up this pheasant hunting trip to Horseshoe K Ranch in the heart of South Dakota. It was great meeting all of you — truly a great group of guys.

You brought some fantastic dogs, and you can tell you’re true Utah hunters. And of course, you got the full South Dakota experience with how fast the weather can change in a single day!

We loved having the Sims group back at Horseshoe K Ranch! It was such a treat meeting even more of their family and friends—what a fantastic group of people. This crew brought plenty of determination to the field… even climbing a tree to retrieve a downed pheasant! Already looking forward to the next adventure with you all.
