Sensei Hector, coach Jessie, and coach Joshua C., were fortunate to attend a unique training camp in Las Vegas, NV from 12-14 June, 2026. This training was led by two Japanese Sensei’s: Yasuo Otoguro and Eiji Watanabe.
One of the purpose for this camp, was to bring together coaches across the USA to review and better understand the principles of Judo as intended by the Kodokan Judo Institute. During this training attendees also acquired additional knowledge and tools that will help them standarized training at their home Dojo’s. Lastly, this training served a the initial meet for Sensei Otoguro’s Team Shugoshin. Sensei Otoguro’s vision for this team is something very different; this team will have constant communication, continued training, and opportunities to compete at all levels.
