The Albemarle Sound Sailing Association (ASSA) race season kicks off this weekend with the Spring Sprint! This is a pair of distance races from Hertford to Elizabeth City and back the next day. Good luck to RIYC members Greg on Go with the Flo and Chuck on Tamrick!

Fun day ahead in Manteo tomorrow!

It's no secret the amount of American history right here on the Outer Banks. On Saturday, one of our area's biggest celebrations of our country's 250 years will be right here in downtown Manteo, bringing celebration and history together.

"This island was settled by England in 1587 as the first European colony in the new world. It's going to be great to have the faire right here at the birthplace of America," said Geno Seay, co-owner of Lost Colony Tavern.

The patriotic spirit is alive and well in downtown Manteo as local organizers of the Dare A250 Faire are putting the finishing touches on what promises to be an incredible community celebration this Saturday.

Erik Here, Call out to area boaters. They are offering a prize for most patriotic decorated boat on the Manteo waterfront. Guest boats welcome too. This is not a flotilla or parade. Just good looking boats in a good looking marina. FYI- they say Patriotic does not equal political and vessels with political decorations will not be eligible.

Today is the day!!

The 2nd Annual Outer Banks Holiday Flotilla, sponsored by the Roanoke Island Yacht Club, will light up the waters of Shallowbag Bay on Saturday, December 13.

TWO DAYS till the Holiday Flotilla! 🎄

While we are here, we would like to send out a huge thanks to all our sponsors, judges, local businesses, musician, mc, and volunteers that are making this event possible!

Huge shoutout to our Holiday Flotilla Committee that has worked hard to get the word out there and planned to make this the best Holiday Flotilla yet!

The Holiday Flotilla is this Saturday from 6-7pm on the Manteo Waterfront. The boat lights parade will run a counter-clockwise route from the waterfront gazebo to the festival park bridge. Weather looks great for it too! There will be live music by Bri Young under the gazebo, Moose on the mic, and Shut The Barn Door Coffee truck with hot cocoa setup by the playground!

Downtown Manteo businesses have also extended their store hours for holiday shopping and strolling!
