Every great coach has a coach.
When I first came to TG Mesa, I heard this phrase over and over—but a past filled with bad coaches, I thought I could figure it all out on my own. And while I taught myself a lot across different sports, the wins I wanted always seemed just out of reach.
That all changed when I met this odd, Viking-looking man with a beard at my gym who could lift some abnormally heavy weight. Four years later, I can say I didn’t just gain a coach—I gained a mentor and a exceptional friend in
A little over a year ago, my sister and I decided to jump into a powerlifting meet with only one month to prepare. Of course, Zac was the only option and sure enough, we both took home 1st place.
Next came Strongman. With a little push from coach, our spirit for adventure took us into the hardest, most painful sport we could find. Under Zac’s coaching, me and have now battled through two AZ’s Strongest competitions and a Regionals.
Looking back, I wouldn’t change a thing. Hiring Zac as my coach completely changed the trajectory of my life. Now, with the title of Arizona’s Strongest, me and my sister are chasing our pro cards with a mentor and friend honing our strength every step of the way.
Grateful I finally listened and got myself a coach after all these years—and even more grateful that it was 🙏🏻😤
