For a diver seeking the professional route towards certification as a Divemaster or Instructor, we offer PADI courses all the way through Divemaster, and NAUI training courses all the way through Instructor. Experience the USS Spiegel Grove with us this Sunday 6/7! ⚓️🌊🦈

The Spiegel Grove first launched on November 10th, 1955 and across the next several decades took on several expeditions and operations. During its career it transported troops, squadrons, and support supplies across the globe. The Spiegel Grove ended its career in 1987 and was sunk off the coast of Key Largo in 2002 to create an artificial reef and diving attraction.

Now lying on the sandy bottom it measures 510ft and 84ft across the beam. This ship is home to some of our favorite marine life including Reef sharks and Goliath groupers.

Meet the Crew: Jean-Michel 👨‍🍳

Meet Jean-Michel! An avid diver and retired Master Chef, he became a PADI Divemaster in 2020 following a successful culinary career.

In addition to his divemaster duties, he’s part of our dive boat crew and serves as an underwater photographer, always looking to capture the beauty of the ocean through his lens.

Originally from Switzerland, Jean-Michel speaks multiple languages (French, German, Italian, and English) and is often our go-to translator on board.

He’s explored much of the Caribbean and the Florida Keys, and regularly joins us on dive travel trips—recently diving in Cozumel, Fiji, and St. Lucia.

We’re lucky to have his passion and creativity as part of the KLDC crew!
