It's almost go time. Racing at the 49er European Championships here in Porto starts Tomorrow. After a solid block of training and two rest days we're feeling ready to go and couldn't be more stoked to be racing against the best in the world - we even have the Olympic gold medalists from London in our flight tomorrow.

Had a few good days of training now here in Porto, Portugal in preparation for the Europeans, which start early next week. Unfortunately, the wind hasn't cooperated forcing us to practice on the Douro River when conditions in the ocean don't allow for any sailing. Practicing on the river down in the city made for some pretty cool sights - just as good as taking a river cruise.

Long time no see, we've been getting back to training after taking some time off because of school and other commitments, with each of us staying fresh with all sorts of sailing from mothing to kiting or just getting out on any boat. We started training again in Long Beach every week and competed in the Long Beach Olympic Classes Regatta this past weekend. We feel improved all around and our boat handling is better than ever.
We're stoked for our summer ahead with the European Championships in Porto, Portugal in just over a month. Looking forward to keeping up the hard work until then! Still working out our schedule for later in the summer but it could include either a trip to the Gorge or a chance to reclaim our pride in Kingston. Stay tuned.

Pretty much sums up our first day of racing.. Squall came through the course with rain and 35 knot gusts and knocked almost the entire fleet down including us... Had good finishes today. Stay tuned.

Finally in Miami for the Miami sailing World Cup sponsored by sunbrella. Went sailing today in 15-18 knots from the north west. Boat park is packed and we are ready to race! Early training session tomorrow morning with the rest of the US Sailing Team Sperry Top-Sider members and any foreigners who would like to join in. On the water at 9:30. Stay tuned for more updates through out the rest of the week, wish us luck

Been getting geared up to head to Miami for OCR, packing up the boat and putting sail numbers on a new main. While we don't have time to sail the 49er until we roll up just before OCR, we've each been keeping busy with Riley sailing everything from FJ's to 18 ft Skiffs and Zack getting to spend some time in the moth.
