***This is long, I am not apologizing!***
After posting the video of Bob jumping off a cliff, I can't stop thinking about ALL the wins we celebrate. Most don't make it to social media due to privacy for my fighters and I am horrible at getting things posted as I am busy coaching classes to fight this ridiculous disease. I can tell you that I cannot watch that video of Bob without getting teary. It hits my heart hard; when I say my participants are family-it is not just words, they mean the world to me.
We celebrate ALL the wins:
*The fighter that threw out the 1st pitch at the Brewers game!
*The fighter that made it to class after only getting 3 hours of sleep!
*The fighters that made it back to class after injury or illness!
*The fighter that took a 2 week vacation doing things they never did before!
*The fighter that remembers an exercise without needing help!
*The fighter that came to class when everything hurts!
*The fighter that took a vacation to Europe!
*The fighter that started leaving their cane in the vehicle after their first class!
*The fighter that no longer bring their walker in!
*The fighter that knows the disease is progressing and things are getting tougher to do, but still give 110% in class!
*The fighters that are making memories with their grandkids doing grandkid stuff!
*The fighters that still go to work every day and deal with PD symptoms that disrupt their work day!
*The fighter that struggled to get up from the floor at home but their first class they did it and their spouse saw it happen and had the BIGGEST smile on their face!
And SO MANY MORE!!! I see these fighters 3 hours of the 168 hours in a week. They give me their ALL and I do the same for them! I wish people could witness what perseverance they bring to every day. I will not lie; some days are really hard...many times I have screamed in my car or threw an adult tantrum after everyone leaves. I HATE this disease, but I will continue to focus on the positive.
Yes, I am a fitness professional, but I feel the title should be "Quality of Life Provider". Yes, we exercise, but we laugh (ALOT), we banter back and forth; we do SO much MORE than exercise! There is no better form of payment than a comment from a fighter or family member about how attending classes was something they looked forward to or was the thing that brought them joy or how classes have impacted their lives positively. They are my family; I will fight incredibly hard for them to live their best life always. I am SO proud of each of them!❤️
